We Finally Understand Why Meghan Markle Divorced Her First Husband

The Spark Faded
After being in a relationship for six years, Trevor Engelson proposed to Meghan Markle in 2010, and the couple went to a four-day destination wedding in Jamaica. Since Markle and Engelson were together for so long, perhaps the spark they once felt began to dissipate after the wedding rush faded.
The Long Distance Marriage
Following their wedding, Trevor and Meghan couldn’t settle down together as she had to head to Toronto, while he stayed behind in their LA home to produce movies. An insider revealed that the couple “really battled with long distances,” and the five-hour flight distance was “a very difficult way to start married life.”
A ‘Sense of Entitlement?’
Markle’s old friend Ninaki Priddy claims that things quickly changed after the couple got married, and she was “like a light switched off,” following the ceremony. She added that there were two sides to her former friend — “Meghan Before Fame and Meghan After Fame” — and Priddy also felt that Meghan suffered from a sense of “entitlement.”
A Social Climber?
According to The Weekend Magazine, Meghan’s childhood dream of becoming a successful actress continued when she met Trevor Engelson, and the publication describes her as a “social climber,” who wanted to be an actress by any means necessary. Engelson’s connections as a producer must have helped her make her aspirations come true.
A Calculated Decision
Priddy accused Markle of being “very calculated in the way she handled people and relationships,” which was echoed by British TV journalist Piers Morgan, who blasted Markle during her appearance on Australia’s “Today” show. He said she was “using people on her way up” to where she is now.
