Brad Pitt played a brooding member of the undead in 1994's "Interview with the Vampire," and he's since admitted that he was "miserable" on set, and working with co-star Tom Cruise did not help things. That film was the start of a tumultuous relationship between two of Hollywood's hottest actors.
"He bugged me," Pitt said of Cruise on the topic of "Interview." "There came a point during filming when I started really resenting him. He's North Pole, I'm South. He's always coming at you with a handshake, whereas I may bump into you. There was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation."
Pitt and Cruise's competition resumed in 2009, when they each came out with World War II dramas — Pitt starred in "Inglourious Basterds," and Cruise in "Valkyrie." When Pitt's film came out on top at the box office, he allegedly called his rival's flop "a ridiculous movie," though Pitt's agent called the quote "inaccurate."
Things heated up further in 2010, when Pitt's ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, swiped the leading role in "Salt," which Cruise had his eye on. Pitt likely enjoyed the drama, but he was also likely shocked at rumors that Jolie and Cruise were romantically linked after she and Pitt divorced — though these claims were soon debunked.
