While Pauley Perrette was working toward becoming a fan-favorite on "NCIS," she was living a nightmare in her marriage to Francis "Coyote" Shivers, a Canadian musician and producer. After being married for four years, Perrette was granted a permanent restraining order against Shivers in 2004.

Perrette accused Shivers of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and Shivers's ex-wife, singer and model Bebe Buell, went through similar treatment. Both women were chilled by this realization, and requesting legal protection was the only option Perrette had; Shivers went on to stalk her over the Internet.

Buell claims that Shivers used the legal system to taunt her; when they divorced in 1999, Shivers requested a restraining order against Buell, even though she lived on the opposite coast. A third woman, Angela Garber, also accused Shivers of assault, battery, and emotional and sexual abuse.
