Michael Jordan’s Wife Gets A Hefty Payday Each Year From Their Prenup
By BRANDON BOMBAY
In 2006, Michael Jordan finalized his divorce from Juanita Vanoy, whereby Vanoy received a substantial settlement of $168 million along with custody of their three children.
To safeguard his assets, Jordan had a prenuptial agreement in place when he married Yvette Prieto in 2013. At the time of their marriage, Jordan’s net worth stood at $650 million.
As reported by the National Enquirer, part of the prenup stipulated that in the case of divorce, Prieto would receive $1 million for each year they were married.
The prenup also stated that the amount would increase to $5 million per year after 10 years of marriage. Both Jordan and Prieto felt comfortable with the terms of their prenup.
Protecting his assets became even more important to Jordan as he sold his stake in the Charlotte Hornets in August, and his net worth skyrocketed to $3.5 billion.
