Inside Michelle Obama's Relationship With Barack Obama

The First Impression
Michelle first met Barack in Chicago at a law firm they worked in. Though the firm tried to set them up, Michelle wasn't interested, and thought it was "tacky."
Since Michelle was Barack’s adviser, she was concerned about how it would look. However, after a persistent Barack, even willing to quit, Michelle agreed to a date.
Their perfect first date included art, food, a movie, and ice cream from Baskin Robbins. Their date eventually became an inspiration for the movie “Southside With You.”
Marriage was a point of contention between Barack and Michelle while they were dating as the former first lady wanted to be married, while Barack wasn't convinced.
However, during one of their dinners in Chicago, Barack brought up the subject again to infuriate Michelle before surprising her with a ring and proposing to her.
Michelle and Barack Obama's wedding day got off to a pretty panicky start when, according to Michelle, the former President woke up with “a nasty head cold.”
"Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night," Michelle revealed in an Instagram caption.
Getting pregnant proved to be an upward battle for Michelle and Barack. The former first lady suffered a miscarriage and had to see a fertility doctor.
Their doctor recommended IVF, which they thankfully could afford due to Michelle's health insurance, and the couple was soon blessed with Malia in 1998 followed by Sasha in 2001.
