John Mayer Recovers At Home Following Emergency Surgery
The "Waiting on the World to Change" singer has returned home following emergency surgery.
John Mayer took to Instagram on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, to let his concerned fans know that he was back home and recovering following his health scare earlier this week. "Home. See you in a bit. ♥️," he captioned a snapshot of himself standing outside in the snow, sporting shades and bundled up in a multi-colored coat.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, the 40-year-old musician was hospitalized while on tour in New Orleans, La. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 for an emergency appendectomy. The following day, the "No Such Thing" singer took to social media with a health update and thanked his fans for their love and support.
"Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets," he tweeted, before apologizing for having to postpone Dead and Company concert dates due to the medical emergency. "I'm so sorry that we couldn't finish out the last few dates of the tour. This band and these shows mean the world to me. Love you all dearly."

Later that day, Mayer shared a photo of himself donned in a hospital gown on Instagram, captioned with, "Still got it."
On Thursday, Dec. 7, the Grammy winner tweeted again early in the morning, with a message that implied that he'd received some strong pain medication. "I'm a warm, pilled-out froggy, whizzing my golf cart around the internet, doffing my wool cap to everyone I pass," Mayer wrote. "Beep beep hellllloo electric guitars let me get a look at you."
We're glad to hear that Mayer is recovering nicely at home! While we wait to hear further health updates from the "Daughters" singer, read up on why he's meant to be with his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry.
