Julia Stiles Welcomes First Child

It's a boy!

Julia Stiles and her husband, Preston J. Cook, have welcomed their first child, a son named Strummer Newcomb Cook. The 36-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, to announce that their little bundle of joy was born on Friday, Oct. 20 in New York City.

"Thanks and ever thanks to the extraordinary Doctors, Nurses and staff at Mount Sinai for helping bring this utter joy into our lives. ❤️✨ 'Hello, World!'" the new mom captioned a sweet snapshot of her husband holding their newborn's hand.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Stiles and Cook, a camera assistant, married in late September 2017 after announcing their engagement on social media in January 2016. The Ten Things I Hate About You star shared a photo from the intimate wedding, which was attended by just two friends. Posting a picture of her and her new husband's hands on her baby bump, Stiles jokingly wrote, "Who doesn't love a shotgun wedding?" 

Stiles and Cook had met while filming the 2015 movie Blackway. The Jason Bourne star revealed that the cute pair were expecting their first child together in June, before showing off her growing baby bump when she was eight months pregnant during a camping trip in August.
