What All Of Pete Davidson's Exes Have Said About Him
Pete Davidson is the unlikely Don Juan of Hollywood. The "Saturday Night Live" star has dated a bevy of leading ladies that only makes his legendary status grow, prompting buzz about who he's going to date next. Kim Kardashian admitted that she pursued Davidson because of that "big d*** energy," admitting that she felt a serious spark during their on-screen kiss as Jasmine and Aladdin on "SNL." "A few days [after our kiss], I was like, 'Hmm, there is some BDE action," the reality TV star admitted on the podcast "Not Skinny But Not Fat." Davidson and Kardashian launched into a serious relationship, hot on the heels of her divorce from husband Kanye West, now legally known as Ye. The relationship between the pair was short-lived, however, leaving Davidson as a single man once again.
Despite his impressive dating record, Davidson has admitted that he would love to get married. He also charmingly admitted to Kevin Hart on "Hart to Heart" that he'd love to be a dad one day. So clearly, Davidson is ready for his dating years to wrap up, but he'll have to start a new relationship for that to happen. Based on his track record, we can safely guess that it'll be with someone gorgeous and super famous.
So, who might he date next? Tough to say, but the only way we can predict his future is to look at his past and what all of his A-lister ex-girlfriends have said about him.
Carly Aquilino reacts to Pete Davidson's relationship news
MTV personality Carly Aquilino dated Pete Davidson in 2015 and while their relationship didn't get a ton of buzz while they were together, Aquilino certainly became a conversation topic in 2018, when Davidson got engaged to Ariana Grande. In 2018, Davidson popped the question to Grande after dating for less than a month, per Elle, and friends and fans looked to Aquilino to see what her reaction was.
Aquilino jumped on Instagram to share a screenshot of a text convo with a friend after Davidson's engagement news broke. "I know I'm the 9 billionth person to text you today about this, but... I can't," the friend texted. "HAHHAHAHAAH," Aquilino responded. Aquilino captioned the screenshot: "My day in a text message." Aquilino wasn't done talking about her love life, however. Later that day, she posted a text where she sent someone a heart emoji and was left on read. "MY LOVE LIFE GOING GREAT," Aquilino wrote over the text, along with captions: "I quit," "Social life: 404 not found," per People.
While Aquilino might have been salty about Davidson's quick engagement to Grande, time has been good to their relationship. They've stayed close and supportive of one another because she played Tara in Pete Davidson's comedy "The King of Staten Island." She shared a promotional photo of the film on Instagram and wrote: "Thank you Pete & [Judd Apatow] for letting me be [a part] of it." Looks like it's all love and support after all.
Cazzie David took their breakup hard
Cazzie David, daughter to comedian and writer Larry David of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," began dating Pete Davidson in May 2016. They kicked things off and Davidson expressed his love for both Cazzie and her dad. "I just love her very, very much," Davidson told People in May 2016. And what does Davidson think of her famous dad? "He's the sweetest man in the world, he's the coolest," he said of the "Seinfeld" creator.
However, things took a different turn. After dating for over two years, Cazzie broke up with Davidson in 2018. She changed her mind and tried to get him back a couple of days later, but Davidson said he was "the happiest he had ever been," according to the Los Angeles Times. The day after Cazzie realized Davidson was never coming back, she found out that he was dating Ariana Grande. Cazzie took the news hard, saying that her dad had to hold her and get her out of bed to stop the physical shaking and screaming that came from such shocking news. "CAZZIE, COME ON!" her dad said to her. "YOUR ANCESTORS SURVIVED THE HOLOCAUST!"
Cazzie wrote about the breakup in her collection of essays, "No One Asked for This," and while she didn't hold back about the dark experience, she said that she and Davidson have become friends again. In the acknowledgements, she wrote: "Pete. I love you ... Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me."
Ariana Grande's quick engagement to Pete Davidson
Ariana Grande was arguably the first relationship that put Pete Davidson on the map in a huge way thanks to her superstar status. The pair met when Grande was taking a break from life in Los Angeles and stayed in New York for a stint at the behest of her friends. "My friends were like, 'Come! We're gonna have a fun summer.' And then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction," she told Vogue in July 2019. "It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn't know him. I'm like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don't trust myself with the life stuff."
They got engaged quickly. Like, really quickly. And Davidson recalled how he turned to "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels as a sounding board. "He really always gives me the best advice," Davidson told Elle in May 2022. "I called him when I got engaged. I was like, 'Lorne, I just got engaged to Ariana Grande after dating her for two weeks.' He goes, 'Oh, well, hold on for dear life.' It's a true story."
"Hold on for dear life" was sound advice, as the news of their engagement created a media frenzy and the typical overload of naysayers and critics. They ended their engagement and relationship all together in October 2018, making it five months together when all was said and done.
Kate Beckinsale is surprised at people's reactions
Pete Davidson went on to date Kate Beckinsale in January 2019, and the relationship caused such a stir that Beckinsale herself was taken aback by it. "I'm surprised by the interest," Beckinsale told the Los Angeles Times in March 2019. "I've never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It's all quite shocking, and something to get used to. I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it. If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it's not."
Part of the hullabaloo about Beckinsale and Davidson's romance was their age gap. At the time, she was 45 and he was 25. While outsiders had a lot to say about it, it was a non-issue for the couple. "Apparently, people have a crazy fascination with our age difference," Davidson said on "SNL" (via Page Six), "but it doesn't really bother us." While this didn't actually create problems, it was the endless attention that ultimately drove them apart. As Page Six reports, they split up in April 2019, only a few months after first getting together.
Later, when Davidson started dating Kim Kardashian and everyone was befuddled as to how he got with so many stunning women, Beckinsale gave quiet support to her ex by liking a post on Instagram that suggested he might actually have a great personality. Looks like things have stayed friendly.
Margaret Qualley's summer with Pete
Four months after his split from Kate Beckinsale, Pete Davidson began dating Margaret Qualley, daughter of actor Andie MacDowell, in August 2019, according to Page Six.They traveled to Venice, Italy, together for the Venice Film Festival, as Qualley's movie "Seberg" was playing there. According to sources who spoke to Us Weekly, Davidson joined Qualley on the red carpet. When they toured Venice, they held hands and seemed very happy together. At the premiere, Davidson sat in the row behind Qualley while she sat next to co-star Anthony Mackie.
By all accounts, the relationship was a hit for both of them. "They've been seeing each other for a couple of months and Margaret is really excited about him," an insider told Us Weekly. Even her family supported the blossoming romance, as Qualley's mom offered her two cents on the relationship. "I FaceTimed with Pete the other day or no, she took a video of me to send to Pete that's what it was," MacDowell said to People about her daughter. "She has a beautiful relationship with him but I don't want to step on her relationship too much," MacDowell went on and then said, "They have a nice relationship."
However, the pair broke up in October 2019. It wasn't an age gap issue, because at the time of their relationship, Davidson was 25 while Qualley was 24, a later publication by Page Six reports. In fact, any reason for their split was never given by either Qualley or Davidson.
Kaia Gerber found it too intense
In the same month as his split from Margaret Qualley, Pete Davidson found love again with model Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. At the time of their relationship, Kaia was 18 while Davidson was 26, Page Six reports. They were spotted on dates in both New York City and Malibu, where Gerber's parents are located.
While things seemed happy initially, people started to wonder if it was going to work out. Rande and Cindy were seen outside of Kaia's New York City apartment having an intense conversation, according to the Daily Mail, and Rande was overheard talking about someone with "scratched eyes" who was "freaking out." Shortly after, Davidson was seen leaving Kaia's apartment. By January 2020, Kaia and Davidson had broken up.
Without stating explicitly who she was talking about, Kaia spoke to Vogue in 2021, in a way that led fans to believe that she was referring to Davidson. "I had never had a high school sweetheart," Kaia said. "So I tended to date older people because those were the people I was around. And I got put in situations where one day I'd wake up and be like, How did I get here? I have no idea what I'm doing, and I need help."
Davidson spoke to Charlamagne Tha God and admitted that things got tough for Kaia. "She's very young," Davidson said, adding that he was going through some mental health struggles at the time.

Phoebe Dynevor was stuck in England
Pete Davidson and "Bridgerton" star Phoebe Dynevor became an item in March 2021. While sources informed Page Six that their relationship wasn't serious and they were keeping things light, Davidson was traveling frequently to England, where Dynevor was filming "Bridgerton." "Still, Pete must like her if he's flying off to quaint little English villages to hang out with her on set," a source said to counter the claims that they were keeping things casual.
Locals in the English town, Caverswall, in Staffordshire, told Page Six that they spotted the couple walking together. "They walked past our house and I recognized him immediately ... I hadn't seen anything written about Pete being in a relationship with Phoebe, but once I saw them together I thought, 'Maybe they are?'" resident Tilly Wagg said.
They later ventured to London to attend Wimbledon, Us Weekly reports, with reports coming back that they looked really happy together. Davidson is also into clear and honest communication. While he was dating Dynevor, Davidson spoke on "The Breakfast Club" and said he loves clarity. "No, if I'm into you, I'm really into you," he said. "It just creates this whole anxiety and a lot of stress ... It should just be like, 'Hey, there's something wrong today.' 'Hey, I'm really happy today.' Communication is really key." As dedicated as he is to communication, Davidson still lived in New York while Dynevor was stuck in England filming and the pair broke up in August 2021, due to long distance factors.
Kim Kardashian and her family loved him
Thanks to "Saturday Night Live," Pete Davidson began dating Kim Kardashian after she hosted the TV show in October 2021. Kardashian was obviously really into the relationship as well, since she and Davidson went official on Instagram in March 2022, and he got several tattoos to honor not only her, but also her children, whom she shares with Kanye West. The one tattoo read: "KNSCP," for Kim, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, according to People. He even got "Kim" branded on his chest.
While these displays of affection might seem intense to some, Kardashian seemed into it at the time. In a family interview with Access in April 2022, the interviewer asked her: "Let's talk about Mr. Pete. [Is he] here for the long time or the good time." Kardashian answered: "All of the above, hopefully." Kardashian's entire family was supportive of Davidson during the interview and expressed how delightful it was to see her so happy and relaxed. "Pete just brings out a simplicity in her," Khloe Kardashian said. "He's super sweet and easy ... he makes all of us laugh," she added.
Things took another major step when Davidson joined Kardashian at the 2022 Met Gala, where she famously wore Marilyn Monroe's glittery dress, while Davidson wore an all-black look by Dior Men, per Vogue. But after eight months together, Davidson and Kardashian ended things in August 2022, claiming that the distance and their busy schedules made it too difficult. As Page Six reports, they want to stay friends.
