Katharine McPhee Responds To Those David Foster Dating Rumors

The American Idol alum is squashing any lingering rumors.

After months of speculation, Katharine McPhee has finally opened up about her supposed relationship with David Foster in the December 2017 issue of Health magazine. However, the "Over It" singer is adamant that there's nothing to the romantic hearsay.

"We're very close friends, and we've been friends for a long time," McPhee began. "I'm really, really fond of him, and I think he's an incredible person." The singer-actress continued, "I've known him since I was 21 years old, you know? He produced my first single. So he's been really good to me. People can say whatever they want."

The Scorpion actress, who was famously caught kissing her former Smash director Michael Morris in 2013, finalized her divorce with Nick Cokas in 2016. During her interview, she maintained that she's currently "pretty single." 

"I had a relationship with my lead actor on my show that was almost two years," McPhee said of her previous relationship with costar Elyes Gabel. "I still am crazy about him, and we have a great working relationship. It's definitely not the easiest thing to get over someone you see every day! It's still an adjustment. But I haven't had anything super serious since."

Rumors of a romance between Foster, 68, and McPhee, 33, began in May 2017, when the two were seen grabbing a bite to eat together in Malibu. More recently, Us Weekly reported they were taking things slow. "It's a little more than casual, but they're not exclusive," a source alleged. "Kat thinks they should be a little more serious, but it's mainly casual on his part."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, the legendary music producer finalized his divorce with Yolanda Hadid, 53, in mid-October. Over the last year, he has also been romantically linked with Christie Brinkley and Elizabeth Hurley.
