Report: Corey Feldman Identifies Alleged Abuser
The Stand By Me actor is speaking out against child abuse in the entertainment industry—and he's starting by naming one of his own alleged abusers.
On an episode of The Dr. Oz Show that aired on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2017, Corey Feldman revealed the name of a man he's accused of sexually abusing him as a child: Jon Grissom, an actor who'd worked alongside Feldman and his late friend Corey Haim in movies like License to Drive (1988) and Dream a Little Dream (1989).
Feldman, 46, had previously referred to Grissom as "Ron Crimson" in his 2013 memoir, Coreyography, in which he described being molested by the actor on more than one occasion. "I had taken some pills, some concoction that Ron had made up ... Ron came over and sat down next to me, a triple-X magazine in his hands ... Ron started touching me, reaching across my thigh to the crotch of my pants," Feldman recounted. "When I woke up, he was on me, touching me, tugging on the zipper of my pants. I realized it was happening again" (via Page Six).
According to Feldman, Grissom, whose name Feldman had changed in his book due to legal issues, was partly responsible for the former child star's substance abuse issues, as the man had allegedly pushed him to try drugs like crack.
With host Dr. Mehmet Oz, Feldman spoke with the Los Angeles Police Department about the alleged abuse, though the report could not be shared via recording due to confidentiality protocols. "It seems to me like they are going to take it seriously," Feldman told Oz (via Variety). "They are going to do an interview with me when I get back to Los Angeles. However, they did give me the warning that based on the statute of limitations, they can only open an investigation, but they cannot promise that it will be prosecuted."
After the show, Oz released a video on his Facebook page, sharing information about the alleged abuser. According to Oz and his legal counsel, Grissom has an extensive arrest record. In 2001, he was reportedly arrested on child molestation charges, for which he served time in prison. According to The Dr. Oz Show, Grissom is currently a "fugitive from justice," after allegedly failing to register under Megan's Law and going M.I.A. while on probation for drug charges. Police have reportedly been unable to find him since 2014.
Days before his appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, Feldman spoke with Megyn Kelly on the Today show and claimed that youth talent manager Marty Weiss was a pedophile, an accusation he'd previously made in Coreyography. Feldman also teased another name, stating that the man "ran a child's club in Hollywood" and that "he's working for the L.A. Dodgers." However, he would not describe the man any further until he had legal protection.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Feldman launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for a feature film that would name several members of an alleged pedophile ring in Hollywood. He set the desired amount for $10 million, explaining that he'd need the money so that he could direct, produce, and distribute the film himself without the influence of a studio. He said that he'd also use money donated to hire a legal team to protect him and his family.
