The Strange Feud Kristen Stewart Once Had With Donald Trump

It's been more than a year since Donald Trump was permanently banned from Twitter. In January 2021, the social media site made the decision to suspend his account indefinitely "due to the risk of further incitement of violence."

In a blog post, Twitter said that his personal account @realDonaldTrump, which had nearly 90 million followers, had a handful of tweets that "were highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021." But, aside from that, Trump was also known to exhibit questionable behavior on the platform, including spreading an alternate version of events and maligning other people including celebrities. He incited feuds — most of them one-sided — against a number of famous personalities, such as Steph Curry, Anna Wintour, Chrissy Teigen, Snoop Dogg, and even Meryl Streep.

He also once insulted actor Kristen Stewart in 2012, back when she ended her romance with Robert Pattinson. At the time, the former president had a lot to say about their relationship, and ironically, Stewart didn't even have Twitter at the time.

Donald Trump weighed in on Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's relationship

Based on Donald Trump's tweets in 2012, it looks like he's a fervent supporter of #TeamEdward. Back when Kristen Stewart got involved in an affair with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders and split from Robert Pattinson, Trump fired off a series of tweets advising Pattinson not to get back together with her.

"Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again–just watch. He can do much better!" he wrote, via PopSugar. "Robert I'm getting a lot of heat for saying you should dump Kristen- but I'm right. If you saw the Miss Universe girls you would reconsider." He even went on to say that, if he takes Stewart back, she will likely cheat on him again. "Lots of response to my Pattinson/Kristen Stewart reunion. She will cheat again–100 certain–am I ever wrong?" Trump continued. "Everyone knows I am right that Robert Pattinson should dump Kristen Stewart. In a couple of years, he will thank me. Be smart, Robert."

Trump ended his rant by inviting Pattinson to the Miss Universe pageant, probably in an attempt to introduce him to the contestants. "Miss Universe 2012 Pageant will be airing live on @nbc & @Telemundo december 19th. Open invite stands for Robert Pattinson," he wrote.

Kristen Stewart thought Donald Trump was 'obsessed' with her

Kristen Stewart was a trooper for ignoring Donald Trump's online attacks against her, but five years after the rant and he had become president, the actor finally shared her thoughts about the bizarre incident. In an interview with Variety, she admitted that she thought it was weird that he cared, and how she thought that he was "obsessed" with her.

"He was mad at me a couple years ago, really obsessed with me a couple years ago, which is f*****g crazy," she said. "I can't even understand it. I literally cannot even understand it. It's such far-out concept that I don't want to believe that actually is happening. It's insane." But at the end of the day, she didn't really care. "At that point, he was just, like, a reality star. I had no reference. It wasn't like really a thing."

She even took a jab at him during her monologue on "Saturday Night Live," which was a brave thing to do considering Trump was already in the Oval then. "I'm a little nervous to be hosting because I know the president's probably watching, and I don't think he likes me that much," she joked. "So, yeah, that's crazy, right? The president is not a huge fan of me. But that is so okay. And Donald, if you didn't like me then you probably really aren't going to like me now, because I'm hosting SNL and I'm, like, so gay, dude."
