'Hot Felon' Jeremy Meeks Divorces Wife Melissa

The ex-convict is not only a free man—he'll soon be a single man.

E! News reports that Jeremy Meeks, who rose to fame as "Hot Felon" after his mugshot circulated online, has filed for divorce from his wife of eight years, Melissa Meeks. The news comes after Jeremy filed for separation in July 2017 (via TMZ).

According to court documents obtained by E! News on Oct. 5, 2017, Jeremy, 33, has cited irreconcilable differences as cause for his split from Melissa. He's reportedly asked for joint legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old child, son Jeremy Meeks Jr.

Melissa, who has another child from a previous relationship, has filed her own paperwork regarding the divorce, seeking spousal support and asking for the court to dismiss her estranged husband's own request for spousal support.

Since the couple's initial breakup, Jeremy has been seen out with 26-year-old Topshop heiress Chloe Green, making his first red carpet appearance with his new lady love in September. Though things between the two have reportedly been heating up, Green has denied that they've gotten engaged. However, a source told E! News that Jeremy's commitment to Green is fueling his efforts to divorce Melissa.

"Jeremy and his ex-wife are having a nasty divorce," the insider explained. "Jeremy wants to marry Chloe eventually. He wants to make sure everything is sealed shut with his ex first. Jeremy has changed and moved on from his wife."

The source added, "He wants to focus on the future with Chloe."
