The Nickelodeon Show You Forgot Emily Ratajkowski Appeared In

Emily Ratajkowski has definitely transcended the reputation that was thrust upon her after she came to mainstream fame in the controversial Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" music video, where she appeared naked. Today, Ratajkowski is most known as a model, actor, and mother, but she was once looked down on for being perceived as just another Instagram model. But by telling her side of the story in her 2021 book "My Body," Ratajkowski has managed to make the public see her for who she is and not just as that girl from the "Blurred Lines" video.

"I think the biggest obstacle of my career has been transitioning and doing things that people didn't really expect," Ratajkowski told Harper's Bazaar earlier this year. "But I think you just have to forge ahead and do what you're going to do and be who you are."

What many people also don't know about her is that Ratajkowski's first love was acting before she was discovered as a model at the age of 14. Plus, you may not have noticed when she appeared in a children's television show back in the day.

iWatched Emily Ratajkowski on iCarly!

During its run on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012, "iCarly" was one of the most popular and topical programs on the network. The show was about a girl becoming famous on the Internet for her web show, so it seems almost prophetic that the future queen of Instagram would appear on "iCarly" in her early days. That's right, Emily Ratajkowski was cast as Gibby's girlfriend, Tasha, in Season 3 for two episodes, "iSpeed Date" and "iEnrage Gibby!" The whole joke was that Gibby, who was the show's lovable loser, somehow got a girlfriend as beautiful as young Ratajkowski. Sam, played by Jeanette McCurdy, suggested that something was probably seriously wrong with Ratajkowski's character for her to be so obsessed with Gibby.

"It was my first and only acting job," Ratajkowski told Rolling Stone in 2013. "I didn't grow up with TV, so I didn't even know what the show was when I auditioned. I only did two episodes, so I was just on set about two weeks."

Even though she was only at Nickelodeon for a short time, it seems that Ratajkowski still looks back fondly at her time on "iCarly." Back in 2020, Ratajkowski retweeted a clip from one of her appearances on the show and wrote, "Gibbs my first love."

Emily Ratajkowski's acting career is nothing to sneeze at

Although "iCarly" was her first-ever time on a big-time set, Emily Ratajkowski has gone on to find success in the world of acting. Even though she is best known for her work as a model, Ratajkowski has always had a love for acting. "I'll go into these meetings with studios," she revealed to Rolling Stone in 2013. "They'll say to me, 'We're so excited to have you audition for this' ... They feel I have a presence on camera."

After gaining notoriety from her days as a music video vixen, Ratajkowski played Ben Affleck's student and mistress in 2014's "Gone Girl," per IMDb. She also appeared as herself in the highly-anticipated "Entourage" movie in 2015. Ratajkowski then went on to get bigger roles in movies like "Cruise," "In Darkness," and the Amy Schumer comedy "I Feel Pretty." Her magnum opus (as of this writing) is her starring role in the 2018 thriller "Welcome Home" alongside "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul.

But where do her passions lie? "I enjoy modeling," she opened up to Maxim in 2015. "I feel that acting is more fulfilling for me, and you definitely have a lot more to contribute as an actress than you do as a model." And it looks like there will be more acting from Ratajkowski down the line, too!
