The Former Real Housewives That Andy Cohen Misses The Most
There's no doubt that Andy Cohen has seen his fair share of flipped tables, heated reunions, and chipped nails during all of the "Real Housewives" catfights he's witnessed over the years. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cohen admitted that sometimes too much reality TV drama can be just as bad as not enough drama. Yet, he said, "Any potential tipping point would've already happened. I still wake up every morning to people demanding the next trailer for whatever 'Housewives' show is next on deck."
And, while Cohen has managed to keep his cool during most specials, he did lash out at the cast of "The "Real Housewives of New Jersey" during the Season 12 reunion. Because the Garden State ladies couldn't stop arguing with one another, Cohen got up and yelled, "You are all talking so shut up!" per the Daily Mail, in a way that even left Teresa Giudice surprised.
Even though a lot of housewives have left the franchise over the years, Cohen recently opened up about some of his favorites from the past. With an alum list that includes the likes of Bethenny Frankel, Nene Leakes, and Lisa Vanderpump, Cohen's answer as to who he misses the most is actually quite surprising.
Andy Cohen misses the original Housewives
According to Bravo, Andy Cohen's favorite housewives from the past are perhaps the ones fans would least expect. During "Watch What Happens Live" on April 9, Cohen opened up about the past with "Bitch Sesh" podcast host Casey Wilson. He said the housewives he misses most are the ones who some fans might have a hard time remembering unless they dig into the archives. He said, "I'm a very nostalgic guy, so I go way back to the beginning to some Lauri Peterson, Lauri from OC. I always miss Shereé [Whitfield]. I love Shereé so much. She always makes me very happy. And Caroline Manzo. I always go back to the originals."
Interestingly enough, it seems like some of the "Real Housewives" OG's, like Manzo, still keep up with the drama. She told Us Weekly in 2021 that "two wrongs don't make a right" in Teresa Giudice's feud with Jackie Goldschnieder. Interestingly enough, when Giudice was asked what she missed the most about Manzo during an episode of "Watch What Happens Live," she replied with (via Bravo), "Nothing. Nothing. And nothing." Whitfield, meanwhile, has returned to the show along with her new boyfriend Tyrone Gilliams, much to the dismay of her cast mates, per Page Six. And because Whitfield has probably read the script more times than anyone else, she has taken her feud with fellow "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Drew Sidora both online and off, just like a true housewife OG, according to E! Online.
Lauri Peterson's daughter Ashley wants to be a housewife, too
As much as Andy Cohen misses some of the OG housewives, it seems like there's already a younger generation in the making. Back in April, Lauri Peterson's daughter Ashley Zarlin told People that she wouldn't mind following in her famous mother's footsteps and become a housewife herself. "I can't believe it's the first franchise. Like, we started it all," the "self-made thousandaire" said during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," adding, "I'm still waiting for the opportunity to be the first legacy Housewife."
Now, whether or not Peterson herself would return to the franchise, she hasn't said, but she has been occasionally updating her 110,000 Instagram fans on her daily life. From Botox treatments, to glamorous getaways, to lavish celebrations, we'd say that Peterson is living the real kind of housewife life that everyone would expect from a retired OG, right? It's no wonder Cohen misses all of these fabulous (but also a tad bit dramatic) stars!
