Zayn Malik Talks Making Amends With Louis Tomlinson
One Directioners rejoiced when Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson put an end to their feud over the summer of 2017, but things are apparently still not how they used to be.
Malik, 24, opened up about making amends with his former bandmate during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. "Yeah we spoke about that, we're in touch, everything is on a civil level," the "Dusk Till Dawn" singer said.
"It's not the way it used to be," he continued. "Obviously we were a lot closer because we were together the entire time, spending 24 hours a day in the band and now we're not so we're living our own lives, we're all growing as individual men and we still keep in touch and check in with each other not as much as we used to."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Malik and Tomlinson fell out after the former abruptly left One Direction in 2015, resulting in a Twitter feud that May. After Tomlinson went after Malik's collaborator Naughty Boy, the "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" singer tweeted, "Remember when you had a life and stopped making b***** comments about mine?" Their bad blood boiled over that July when Malik used the hashtag "#realmusic" to announce his record deal with RCA — an obvious dig against the boy band.
As Tomlinson, 25, told The Sun in July 2017, he was inspired to reach out to Malik by his late mother, who passed away in December 2016 following a battle with leukemia. "My mum said, 'You've got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life's too f**king short,'" the "Back To You" singer recalled. "A mother's intuition is just f**king crazy. It always felt supernatural to me. My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted. I can't stand to hold a grudge with anyone. It doesn't sit with me right. If there is any animosity, just clear the air. I met up with him and it was nice."
We're glad to see these two reconcile their differences! But, unfortunately, Malik is no stranger to stirring the pot. Check out all of the other celebs who have had beef with the "Pillowtalk" singer.
