Cindy Crawford's Daughter Kaia Gerber Makes Runway Debut
Kaia Gerber totally slayed her New York Fashion Week debut — like mother, like daughter.
All eyes were on Cindy Crawford's mini-me as she strutted down her very first catwalk at Raf Simon's spring/summer 2018 show for Calvin Klein on Sept. 7, 2017. Even though she joked with W Magazine that she "blacked out" during the show, the 16-year-old looked every bit the part of a runway regular in a color-block button down jacket and gold satin pants.
After her big night, fashion's newest It Girl took to Instagram to express her excitement over the milestone moment, writing, "CALVIN KLEIN! there are no words to describe how I feel, I love you endlessly Raf!" Gerber also shared a sweet video featuring Crawford on her Instagram Story with the caption "celebrating with mama." The fact that Calvin Klein was one of the labels that launched Crawford's career back in the '90s probably made the night that much more special.
Gerber had quite the opening night turnout with notable names like Lupita Nyong'o, Paris Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Anna Wintour watching from the front row. Also sitting in the front row was her brother, Presley Gerber, who showed up to support his little sister.
Although this was her first runway, Gerber is definitely not a stranger to the fashion world. She signed on as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty in September 2016 and appeared on a special edition of Teen Vogue.
While it's unclear if Gerber will be walking in any other shows during New York Fashion Week, one things is for sure: she is one catwalk closer to making a name for herself in fashion instead of just being known as Crawford's doppelgänger daughter.
