90 Day Fiance: The Truth About Danielle Mullins' Shady Past
Danielle Mullins rose to notoriety on the popular TLC series "90 Day Fiance." She started her romantic journey with fiance Mohamed Jbali on Season 2 of the show, where viewers first got to know her. The mother of four is known for her tumultuous relationship with Mohamed and their painful divorce that unfolded on national television. Viewers accused Mohamed of using Danielle for a green card and to begin a new life in the United States. The constant fighting never seemed to subside. Fans urged Danielle to wake up and even started an online petition on Change.org to have Mohamed deported. After their very short-lived marriage and dramatic relationship, the couple later established a friendship.
"I never thought that it would happen, but he's [grown] over the years. He's in his 30s now, you know, they say guys mature later," Danielle told Us Weekly. "So, I think he's matured a lot over the years after being out on his own and having things happen to him and he's realized that I was a good person and that I did a lot for him ..."
Although everything has calmed down between the exes, there were some legal issues in the past. During their time on the show, Mohamed accused Danielle of using his credit card without permission and creating a fake DirecTV account in his name, per Radar. However, this isn't Danielle's first connection to criminal accusations. In fact, her past may surprise viewers.
Does Danielle Mullins have a criminal record?
Danielle Mullins was accused of committing a series of crimes over a decade ago. A Reddit user under the name Mohamedjbali posted the reality star's alleged arrest record and later deleted their account. It is unclear if the user was actually Mohamed Jbali. The charges listed include "theft of money," "theft-slash-credit," and "forgery." According to Starcasm, Danielle was "found guilty of writing a bad check" in April 2004. The following year, she was charged with felony theft and fraud. However, the charges were dropped when Danielle was only found guilty of misdemeanor theft.
"Yes, I used someone's credit card and it was a mistake. Yes, in the beginning I was charged with [four] or [five] felonies... This happened in 2005 and I regret it and I paid my restitution, court costs, and served probation," Danielle explained on her Facebook page (via InTouch).
When viewers found out about Danielle criminal past, one pointed out that she would not be able to get a nursing license as a result. However, Danielle responded on Twitter that the charges did not count because they "are misdemeanors not felonies." Danielle' former fiance did call the police on her for fraud. However, it seems as though those charges have now been dropped. According to Radar, Danielle sued Mohamed after the show for fraud to the tune of $12,500. Danielle believed Mohamed duped her into a romance when all he wanted was a free ride and a green card. She also accused him of stealing her share of their payment for appearing on the show.
The grass is greener post-show
While everything seemed a bit messy for the couple on "90 Day Fiance," life after the show has allowed both Mohamed Jbali and Danielle Mullins to find their own happiness. In June 2021, Danielle shared the news on Instagram that she graduated nursing school and posted photos from her capping ceremony. Mohamed congratulated her on her success in a comment on the post and even called out TLC. "I wish the TV show focused more on showing how good as a person you are more than faking things to make you look like you have nothing but drama in your life, you are on the right path and you deserve happiness. You have my support as always," he said.
Danielle responded to the comment, thanking her ex-fiance for his "support and for asking how school is always going." Things have definitely calmed down since the couple appeared on the series. According to his Instagram, Mohamed is living in Indianapolis and works as a truck driver. He also seems to enjoy cooking, often posting pics of his culinary creations.
It seems as though he and Danielle on good terms as well, as they made up on an April 2021 episode of "90 Day Fiance: The Single Life" (via ET). Danielle confronted her ex over FaceTime, telling him she was hurt by the "horrible things" he said about her. While he initially got defensive, he then apologized, telling her, "I've been through a lot ... And I regret it. Sorry for saying that." A crying Danielle told the cameras, "That's the first time he's ever said that."
