Police Called To Handle Jon And Kate Gosselin Custody Fight
There's new drama for the Gosselins. And their orthodontist.
The former reality TV couple got into a verbal tiff on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at one of their 13-year-old daughter's orthodontist appointments. Entertainment Tonight reports that police were called after Jon and Kate started verbally fighting over who would take the daughter home. The disagreement then turned into a "fairly lengthy argument as far as both parents had conflicting versions of a child custody agreement," according to a Wyomissing Police Department spokesperson.
The spokesperson also said that Jon and Kate both told police differing accounts of what they each felt the custody agreement to be. The police then "referred the matter over to our county district attorney," who determined that "the order was sufficiently vague to interpret who was supposed to actually have custody today."
Ultimately, Jon and Kate were told to go back to court to get their custody agreement clarified. The unidentified daughter was then asked which parent she wanted to go home with. She chose her father.
ET also reports that this is not the first time police have been involved in the Gosselins' custody issues.
Jon told the gossip site that Kate once "called the cops and filed a police report" against him after he brought their daughter Hannah to his house on a day that he didn't have custody, due to Hannah allegedly having "a fear" over going to Kate's house.
Both Jon and Kate have repeatedly dragged each other in the media for a variety of reasons, including the terms of their divorce, the family's participation in the reality show, and the custody of the children.
Ugh, what a mess. And of all places, to have this happen at the orthodontist's office. Those visits are usually painful enough!
