Fredrik Eklund Expecting Twins With Husband Derek Kaplan

Million Dollar Listing New York star Fredrik Eklund is expecting twins with his artist-husband, Derek Kaplan, the real estate mogul confirmed Thursday, August 10, 2017, on Instagram.

"We've been blessed two times over – we're six months pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl!" Eklund wrote, in a Beyonce-esque message. "It was important for us to take the time to keep the news for ourselves, but now we are ready to celebrate all the love. We thank you for supporting us in this journey and your well wishes.... We are finally going to be dads! Finally!"

Eklund and Kaplan found out the news in April while celebrating Eklund's 40th birthday in Paris, France. The moment was captured on Thursday night's episode of Million Dollar Listing.

"That was probably the biggest moment of my life," Eklund later told People magazine. "I felt like it was meant to be, which is hard for me to say because it's been so difficult."

Eklund and Kaplan have struggled to conceive over the years after their surrogate suffered multiple miscarriages. Some of the drama was captured on earlier seasons of Million Dollar Listing.

"It felt like every time I went onto Facebook or Instagram, all that I could see were these smiling babies on my feed," Eklund told People. "I was reminded constantly that there was this gap between me and where I wanted to be."

These will be the first children for Eklund. Kaplan, meanwhile, has a 7-year-old son, Kai, after donating his sperm to a lesbian couple who live in London.
