Kesha Says Rainbow Album 'Literally Saved My Life'
Kesha just made a truly powerful reveal in one of her first televised appearances in years.
The 30-year-old visited Good Morning America on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017 to promote her upcoming Rainbow album, which will be released on Friday, Aug. 11. Between her empowered performances of "Praying" and "Woman," the pop star understandably got emotional while discussing her current musical output, which comes after a four-year hiatus.

"It's so personal," she told co-anchor Robin Roberts while fighting back tears. "['Praying'] I think is just really important because it talks about me personally going through something very hard, lots of very hard things, making it through, not giving up, and finding empathy on the other side — which is incredibly hard sometimes."

The subtext here, on which Kesha could not comment, was of course her harrowing and heartbreaking legal battle with producer/songwriter Dr. Luke, whom she's accused of sexual assault and physical and emotional abuse. As Nicki Swift previously reported, Kesha dropped the lawsuit in August 2016 in order to focus on her music.
However, the "Learn to Let Go" singer did note that this album is what helped her through this dark period in her life. "I think this record has quite literally saved my life," she told GMA. "I hope you guys like it. I hope you can hear it and I hope it helps people."
We're only about 100% sure that it will.
