Who Is Zac Taylor's Wife, Sarah Sherman?

Zac Taylor, the coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, is looking to make history with his team at the 2022 Super Bowl. The 38-year-old, who joined the team in 2019, did not have the best luck during his first two years in charge, posting a 6-25-1 record, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Taylor's lackluster record almost got him fired from the head coach position, but his perseverance paid off and the Bengals have a chance to win their first-ever Super Bowl. Per Fansided, Bengal fans believe that Taylor should be awarded Coach of the Year for his efforts in turning the underdogs into contenders.

While Taylor will have to wait and see whether the league thinks he's worthy of the award, his wife, Sarah Sherman, will most likely be cheering him on from the stands on February 13. In fact, Sherman might even be more excited for game day because of her longtime association with the NFL.

Sarah Sherman comes from a football family

Being a wife to a football coach can be stressful, but Sarah Sherman is no stranger to the game as she's grown up around it, being the daughter of former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman. Per Sports Illustrated, Taylor met his wife in Nebraska in 2004 when she was a graduate assistant working in media relations. Taylor said when he first caught sight of Sarah, he was surprised by how "mature" she looked. "I figured she was probably 30 years old," he told SI, noting he was 22 at the time. "As the years went by, I learned we were the same age. I would run into her more often and I realized maybe I had a chance."

The two eventually went on to date, but for Taylor, meeting his father-in-law was not an easy task. "The first time I met [Mike], he was upstairs in his house," he recalled to SI. "He has his XOS coaches film set up there. I was as intimidated as can be. I figured, I can impress him by watching film with him." However, things didn't go as planned, as Taylor couldn't make small talk with him and couldn't answer any football-related questions he asked, which is ironic given his position today.

Still, Taylor eventually got Mike's approval and wed Sarah in 2008, when they were both working at Texas A&M University. And they've been expanding their family ever since.

Taylor and Sherman have a big family together

Zac Taylor and Sarah Sherman have been together since they met at the University of Nebraska, where he played quarterback while she pursued a master's degree in marketing and journalism. While Taylor was impressed with Sherman's maturity, Sherman told Modern Luxury that Taylor's sportiness and physique stood out to her. "I honestly thought, 'Oh my gosh, what a hunk!'" Sherman gushed. Both also bonded over their love for sports and family life.

Since marrying in 2008, Taylor and Sherman have expanded their family. They have four children — sons Brooks and Luke and daughters Emma and Milly. Though Taylor spends most of his time with his team, he is also a devoted family man, according to a report by Local 12 News. And Sherman hopes to raise their family in Cincinnati long-term. "I want to live here so bad," she told WCPO 9.

Sherman, on the other hand, is proud of her husband's head coaching job, despite her initial surprise. "In my wildest dreams I never thought we'd be here in this position that he would have the head job," she admitted. Well, dreams do come true!
