This Is The Actor In Caesar's Sportsbook Super Bowl 2022 Commercial
The 2022 Super Bowl is just around the corner and it's expected to draw the annual championship game its highest viewership yet. The 2015 game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks currently holds the distinction of having the biggest audience, with a whopping 114 million viewers. According to experts, Super Bowl LVI won't have a tough time surpassing this number, as the playoff between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams could potentially reach 117 million viewers.
While there's no doubt that audiences across the country — and even around the world — are looking forward to what's sure to be a nail-biting face-off between the Rams and Bengals, viewers are also excited for the Super Bowl's slate of advertisements. The Sports News reports that companies spent upwards of $6.5 million just to secure a 30-second commercial spot, making it the most expensive ad price in Super Bowl history.
Coughing up millions of dollars for a short advertisement is no joke even for the world's biggest brands, which is why companies see to it that every second counts. Every year, commercials get flashier and more star-studded to capture the attention of viewers, resulting in some of the best ads of all time. Online sports betting establishment Caesars Sportsbook certainly knows how cutthroat the Super Bowl ad game can be, which is why they pulled all the stops to ensure that their commercials are unforgettable. In their series of ads, they invited some of the best names in the business, including a comedian you already know and love.
Comedian J.B. Smoove shines in the Caesars Sportsbook Super Bowl commercials
Caesars Sportsbook is the exclusive casino sponsor of the Super Bowl, and they made sure everyone knows it. They brought out the big guns with their iconic Caesar and Cleo characters, and made them the star of the commercials for the anticipated sports event. The beautiful Halle Berry reprises her role as Cleo, while comedian J.B. Smoove plays Caesar.
You may already know Smoove from the award-winning HBO comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm." There, he starred as Leon Black, Larry David's houseguest-slash-confidant, who dispenses advice for pretty much everything. The actor is also known for his stint on "Saturday Night Live" as writer and performer, as well as his appearances in blockbusters like "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "The Millers."
While Smoove is not exactly an A-list celebrity like many other Super Bowl commercial stars, he prefers it that way. "I've just been a happy man just to be busy like this, man," he said in an interview with Complex in 2020. "I think that shows patience and not willing to step on toes or burn any bridges. I think that's a smart way for all actors and anybody on the rise to think about that. Find that middle ground and just be prepared for whatever comes your way, and be ready to hit that ball because you never know when they're going to put you in the game."
Expect to see more of J.B. Smoove in Caesars Sportsbook commercials
It looks like all the waiting J.B. Smoove has done throughout his career has paid off. Fresh off winning at the Emmy Awards, where he won the award for Outstanding Actor In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series in 2021, he also inked a deal with Caesars Sportsbook and Casino to star in a TV series, in addition to the commercials. The series is named "One Course with J.B. Smoove," and it will feature content revolving around betting odds.
"I am thrilled to be reunited with my friends at MSG Networks," the comedian said. "I can see it now: Caesar in the Mecca! A match made in heaven!"
With his series of projects with Caesars Sportsbook, it will only be a matter of time until Smoove becomes a household name. The company is incredibly excited about their partnership, too, especially the Super Bowl ads. "We're an entertainment company first and foremost, but we are also storytellers, and this commercial gives us the unique opportunity to highlight family, fun, and football on the world's biggest stage," they said in a statement. "We're excited to debut the next episode of our iconic campaign and hope it will be the topic of conversation on Monday after the game."
