Selling The OC Season 1 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far
The Netflix hit show "Selling Sunset" is getting a spinoff, "Selling The OC." The new series will follow the daily drama of The Oppenheim Group's real-estate agents in their new Newport Beach office in Orange County. Like "Sunset," we anticipate the OC homes will be huge, and the realtors' designer clothes will be tiny. Twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim, the chiefs of The Oppenheim Group, are building a TV franchise and building a fortune in real-estate sales. "Selling The OC" will be the third show in the franchise, as the new show "Selling Tampa" launched on December 15, 2021.
The Season 4 finale of "Selling Sunset" helped announce the new show. The finale featured a party celebrating Oppenheim Group's expansion into Orange County with a new office in Newport Beach, California. Boss Jason shared the news about the new show on Instagram, writing, "I am so excited for our new show, 'Selling the OC,' about my Newport Beach office and its amazing agents! Thank you [Netflix, Lionsgate TV, Adam Divello, and Skyler Wakil] for believing in me and what we have all created together with 'Selling Sunset.'"
Good things ahead, but fans want to know when to watch "Selling The OC." Here's all the info available about the spinoff so far.
When will Selling The OC premiere?
Netflix hasn't announced a premiere date for "Selling The OC." However, the success of the new "Selling Tampa" shows viewers are hungry to marathon the luxury real-estate franchise. In addition, Netflix reported that "Selling Sunset" landed in Ten 10 in November 2021, with over 33 million hours spent watching the "stiletto-clad real estate moguls." Since Netflix docu-soap seems to be on everyone's list, it makes sense that the spinoff will air sooner than later.
PopSugar reported when "Selling the OC" was announced in November, 201 they revealed production had already begun on the spinoff. Entertainment Tonight reported the OC spinoff would stream in 2022, so at least that means fans can expect it at some point this year.
And for any fans curious about the switch-up in locations, ET spoke to Jason Oppenheim about the differences between the LA and Orange Country markets. The Oppenheim Group's boss said most of the luxe homes in the OC are beach or waterfront properties. "Interestingly enough, houses are more expensive on a price per square foot basis down there than they are in Los Angeles," he said.
Who will be in the cast of Selling The OC?
The introduction in the "Selling Sunset" finale tipped off viewers about new cast members in "Selling The OC." The finale introduced Brandi Marshall, Austin Victoria, and Alexandra Hall. Distractify reported that Brandi has a history with the Oppenheim Group and has a side hustle as a social media influencer. The outlet noted details about Victoria — she's a former actor turned realtor. The luxury real-estate agent is married to a fashion designer and the father of two (adorable) twin girls. Distractify also reported Alexandra is an interior designer and luxe real-estate agent.
"Selling Sunset" star Heather Rae Young and husband Tarek El Moussa live in Newport Beach as well. She is listed as an agent in both offices, but word is Heather will keep doing business in LA. Either way, Jason Oppenheim joked to ET that the new show will bring high drama. The Oppenheim Group co-owner said the Newport Beach office has "strong personalities and you've got people that are just getting to know each other." He explained, "And so you are seeing people connect to some people and not others. So, that will be interesting, and I think probably exciting to watch."
