RHOSLC: Who Is Jennie Nguyen's Husband, Duy Tran?
Jennie Nguyen's time as a castmate on "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" was short-lived. After just one season on "RHOSLC," Bravo announced Jennie would not be returning to the show after offensive posts came to light from Jennie's Facebook page. In the controversial posts from 2020, Jennie slammed the Black Lives Matter movement with racially insensitive statements, which were condemned by Jennie's Salt Lake City co-stars prior to her firing. After her written apology was widely panned by fans, Jennie hopped on an Instagram Live to discuss the controversy. "I'm very proud to be a Republican," Jennie shared, per Entertainment Weekly. "...To support my political stance, that does not make me a racist. And I want you to understand that."
The new "RHOSLC" fan-favorite's fall from grace has cut her many interesting storylines short, including her family dynamic with her husband, Duy Tran. Fans were shocked during a Season 2 episode when Duy proposed bringing a sister wife into his marriage with Jennie in order to father more children. Jennie, who struggled to bear more children after welcoming three kids with Duy, was beyond insulted by her husband's request. But now that Bravo cameras are no longer following Jennie, viewers are left with many questions about her family life. Who exactly is Jennie's husband Duy?
Duy Tran is a successful doctor
Jennie Nguyen's affluent lifestyle seen on "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" is thanks in part to her husband, Dr. Duy Tran. Duy founded his successful chiropractic practice HealthQuest of Murray, Utah in 1992.
According to his practice's site, Duy has kept a clientele of world-class and "Olympic athletes, medical providers and celebrities," as well as working-class people for more than 28 years. In addition to his affiliation with California chiropractic associations, Duy's expertise led him to lead on the Board of Directors & the Chairman of Ambassadors for the Murray Chamber of Commerce and to become President of the Utah Business Network in Midvale. According to his practice, Duy also taught as a professor for Bio-mechanics and Physics in Motion at the University of Utah. Stars Offline reported Duy's net worth in 2021 to be an estimated $5 million due to his successful career.
Jennie opened up about meeting her husband of 14 years on the "RHOSLC" Season 2 premiere episode. "We actually met through my sister-in-law while I was working at a photography studio doing her makeup for her family photo," she explained, per Bravo. "When I first met my husband, I was like, 'Damn, you have a nice body from the neck down, from the neck up I was like, you know, it was OK.' I didn't tell him. [I was like,] you got me, man. And then we've been together ever since."
Jennie Nguyen stands by her husband
Jennie Nguyen's onscreen tension with her husband Duy Tran over expanding their family was hotly debated by fans, especially after Jennie roasted Duy on "Watch What Happens Live" when their fight over a sister wife aired. Despite the drama in their marriage, Jennie stuck by Duy when viewers condemned the "RHOSLC" husband for asking his wife for more children after their devastating struggles with miscarraige and infertility. "I just wanted everyone to know that I made a commitment to love and cherish this man," Jennie announced on Instagram under a selfie with Duy. "He is my everything. At no point in our conversation, he said he wants me to go through childbirth and risk my life. All he said was he wanted more children. Maybe the delivery was misleading, but I know how much he loves me and our children."
Prior to her firing, Jennie shared a photo to Instagram of herself with Duy at the "RHOSLC" reunion taping. "I wouldn't want to share this journey with anyone else," Jennie wrote lovingly to her husband, seemingly about the reunion. Ironically, the reality star's journey with Bravo has come to an abrupt end — though Jennie and Duy appeared to remain strong together throughout her scandal.
