The Career Path Britney Spears' Boyfriend Sam Asghari Almost Chose
Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam Asghari has her back. Spears and her beau have been together since sparks flew between them on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016, per Us Weekly. Asghari is clearly all about his popstar GF, who is 13 years his senior. "I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I'm inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world," he gushed over Spears on Instagram in celebration of her birthday. Asghari has also been a vocal #FreeBritney supporter in his lady's fight to gain back legal control of her life.
Now that the nearly 14-year-long conservatorship over Spears has been terminated, she and Asghari have big plans for the future. "I can't f**king believe it," the "Toxic" singer wrote on Instagram in September 2021 announcing their engagement. Now that the couple is hearing wedding bells, Spears has also opened up about her desire to add to her family. "I'm thinking about having another baby!!!" she announced on Instagram in November 2021. Asghari hilariously confirmed that family planning has ensued between he and his fiancé when he told TMZ that "a lot of baby making" was on the docket for their holiday plans.
It seems Asghari and Spears were meant for each other, and it's hard to imagine the fitness model going in a different direction in life — however, Asghari almost pursued a completely different future for himself.
Sam Asghari was almost a police officer
While Britney Spears' man Sam Asghari now works in the fitness and modeling industries, he had different plans for himself years ago. Asghari grew up in Tehran, Iran, where he dreamed of a career in either sports or law enforcement, according to Men's Health. "I was a very masculine guy — I played football and was in the police academy," Asghari said of his transition to Los Angeles to the outlet in 2018. "At the time, my Sunday best was basketball shorts."
Asghari explained that his sister convinced him to switch his focus to modeling. "My sister said, 'I will take you to this audition, just come with me,'" he revealed. He quickly built up his résumé with runway and photoshoot experience, as well as appearances in music videos like "Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony and Spears' 2016 hit, which of course led to their romance.
While Asghari didn't end up being a real police officer, perhaps he will get to live out his fantasy in the upcoming "Magic Mike" film as he lobbies for a role as a male entertainer in the upcoming sequel, "Magic Mike's Last Dance." Asghari campaigned for a spot on the cast with a jaw-dropping shirtless selfie on Instagram, writing, "Magic Mike 3 ready." Asghari further teased the possibility of him joining the "stripperverse" to a TMZ cameraman. "I gotta audition man — if you see Channing [Tatum], put in a good word for me ... wish me luck," he said.
Sam Asghari is building his career
In addition to his work in fitness and modeling, Sam Asghari is steadily rising as a Hollywood actor. Asghari revealed that he nearly got a role as a hunky physical therapist on a highly anticipated HBO revival series. "Man, I was looking forward to this role for the reboot of Sex and the City, And Just Like That," the actor wrote on his Instagram Story, per People. "Shout out to the dude that got it! It was a dope role."
Though he didn't land that audition, Asghari now stars on the workplace comedy series, "PBC." "Had a blast Filming this hilarious show," Asghari wrote of the project on Instagram. According to People, Asghari is also set to star opposite Mel Gibson in the upcoming thriller film, "Hot Seat." The "Hot Seat" director, James Cullen Bressack, praised Asghari, saying, "He's one of the nicest people, he's such a kind human being and he's a very talented actor," per TooFab.
While Asghari may have dreamed of a career in law enforcement at one time, he has even bigger aspirations for his career in Hollywood. "When it comes to my career, I do not have humble goals and skies the limit, so don't expect for anything less," he told HollywoodLife. "I will be reaching for the stars. We're going to get there. With a lot of hard work and a lot of preparation and a lot of sleepless nights, we will get there."
