Here's What Perez Hilton's Net Worth Is Today
If you were pop culture obsessed in the 2000s, it's very likely that you browsed Perez Hilton's website for all the latest celebrity gossip.
During an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2006, the outlet noted that his blog gathered more than 2.5 million hits a day. The popularity of his site rapidly increased, as one year later Hilton bragged about having 8.82 million views in just 24 hours. Despite writing about celebrities for a living, Hilton morphed into one himself and has ventured into television and acting. As noted by his IMDb page, he has appeared in the movies "Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie," "Most Likely to Die," and "Meet the Blacks," and has been a contestant on the reality shows "Worst Cooks in America" and "Celebrity Big Brother." Hilton has also starred in several music videos such as Rihanna's "S&M," Simple Plan's "When I'm Gone," and The Pussycat Dolls' "Hush Hush; Hush Hush."
Hilton's website is still active, but doesn't appear to be the hot topic it used to be. However, that doesn't mean Hilton hasn't racked up the cash during his time as a blogger and pop culture figure.
Perez Hilton is extremely wealthy
Perez Hilton's website might be not talked about as much anymore, but that doesn't seem to have affected his wealth. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Florida-born blogger is worth an impressive $20 million, making him extremely wealthy.
Despite being a financial giant, Hilton has also had his fair share of legal issues. In 2006, paparazzi agency X17 filed a $7.5 million suit against him for posting their images, according to Access. Then in 2007, Universal sued Hilton for publishing a leaked topless photo of Jennifer Aniston from her movie "The Break-Up", per CBS News. That same year, another photo agency, PhotoNews, served Hilton a lawsuit for $3,700 for allegedly using a copyrighted image of John Mayer and Jessica Simpson unlawfully, per Wired. Britney Spears' record label Zomba also took Hilton to court for illegally obtaining and sharing roughly 10 completed songs and unfinished demos from the pop powerhouse, according to Today.
Not all Hilton's legal situations have gone against him, however. As noted by Fox News, Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, attempted to sue Hilton in 2007 for reporting she allegedly planted cocaine found in Lohan's car after a crash. Hilton won $85,000 after his attorneys argued he was protected by free speech rights, Today reported in 2008. Hilton was also able to receive an additional $2,000 if he requested the money. If Hilton gets bored with celebrity reporting, perhaps he could go to law school.
