The Truth About Tati Westbrook's Husband

In recent years, influencers have taken over the beauty space on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, but especially YouTube. In fact, 86% of all beauty content on YouTube in 2016 was created by influencers, according to WWD. The word "influencer" wasn't even synonymous with a career until relatively recent, but there's no doubt now the power influencers have in the beauty industry.

Many have carved out their own success using YouTube. One such influencer who has risen to fame thanks to the video-sharing platform is Tati Westbrook. Beauty guru Tati got her start in the industry, spritzing perfume at passersby and working the beauty counter at Nordstrom, according to Insider. But her beauty career really took off when she launched her YouTube page, previously called "GlamLifeGuru," in 2011.

One person that's been by her side since she started her Youtube channel is her husband, James Westbrook. Throughout legal drama, the rise and fall of her beauty brands, and controversy with other YouTubers, James has seemingly stuck with Tati through it all. Here's everything we know about the influencer's husband, James.

Tati Westbrook met her husband James on the internet

Tati Westbrook's husband, James Westbrook, seems to keep a low profile outside of occasionally popping in on Tati's videos, but judging by those videos, the pair seems to be very much in love. In a 2012 YouTube video, Tati says she met James in 2010 on Match.com and was very nervous. Since their first date, the two have grown extremely close and Tati describes their relationship as "two halves of the same soul." James proposed to Tati in 2012 with the help of some of her fellow YouTubers, and the two were married in 2017, and of course, it's all documented on YouTube.

James does have a son from a previous relationship, who hilariously did his stepmother's makeup for a video, but James and Tati do not have any children together. Over the years, James and Tati have shut down numerous rumors that they are expecting, and Tati has opened up about her issues with fertility. She recently announced to her followers that she will be starting fertility treatments in January 2022, with many fans showing their support in the comments section.

Some trouble in paradise for Tati and James Westbrook

Outside of their marriage, Tati and James are also business partners on Tati's brands Halo Beauty supplements and the recently closed Tati Beauty. But her supplement brand proved to be a bit more trouble than its worth when it resulted in major drama with Tati's friend and fellow beauty influencer, James Charles. It all started when James made a post with Tati's direct competitor, Sugarbear Hair, but then blew up when she responded with the since-deleted video titled "BYE SISTER." In the video, per BuzzFeed, Tati said she's done apologizing for James' inappropriate behavior and claimed she feels James used her and her husband to further his career.

Then to make matters worse, Tati and James were sued by their business partner at Halo Beauty for not selling products under their brand name and instead opening up Tati Beauty, per Insider. After experiencing intense harassment, the beauty influencer decided to take a hiatus from her YouTube page in 2020.

With the compounded YouTube and legal drama, the whole fiasco took a toll on Tati and James' marriage and she revealed that they almost got a divorce in a YouTube video after her hiatus. "We could not be around each other. He got his own place. We were separated during the holidays, it was a sad time," she said in the video. Thankfully, Tati said they were able to kiss and make up. "Now we're back and we found our love again. And it's really wonderful and I'm grateful."
