The Truth About Eddie Cibrian's Affair With Scheana Shay
It may seem like eons ago now, but when "Vanderpump Rules" first premiered on Bravo all those years ago, one of the most scandalous storylines among the cast was Scheana Shay's affair with Eddie Cibrian. In case your Bravolebrity knowledge is still slightly short of encyclopedic, here's a recap with some context. Cibrian was once married to Brandi Glanville, who was then starring on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alongside Lisa Vanderpump, Scheana's boss. Brandi and Cibrian got divorced after Cibrian's affair with LeAnn Rimes, to whom he is now married.
We know. With that much drama, it would be criminal not to put it all on a reality TV show. And like any good drama, just knowing the basics of the affair raises a lot more questions than we had before. Not to worry. We've got all the deets on how this romance — if romance is the right word for it — started and ended.
Scheana says Eddie Cibrian 'wrecked his own home'
Audiences first learned about Eddie Cibrian's affair with Scheana Shay when "Vanderpump Rules" premiered on Bravo in 2013 — in the most dramatic way possible, of course. Cibrian was still married to fellow Bravolebrity, Brandi Glanville, when he and Scheana were dating, leading to Brandi and Scheana's memorable confrontation about the affair in the popular series' first season.
Scheana later elaborated on her short-lived romance with Cibrian. Speaking to Us Weekly back in 2013, Scheana said, "Seven years ago I met Eddie, and six or eight months go by and I find out that he's married and I call him out." She explained how her one-time beau was not exactly honest with her. "He lied at first about it and then he admitted it. So I stopped talking to him for a long time." Scheana said she later found out that not only was Cibrian married, but he was also dating LeAnn Rimes at the time. "It was just a mess. I ended things there, I stopped talking to him, and I've never talked to him again."
The internet being what it is, Scheana has dealt with her share of internet ugliness over the affair, but she totally rejects the "home-wrecker" accusations and we have to say we agree. "He wrecked his own home. I was a single 21 year old who met a cute actor in LA," the former server wrote on Twitter.
Brandi and Scheana have buried the hatchet
The good news is that everyone appears to have more than moved on from the relationship. Eddie Cibrian is now married to LeAnn Rimes, who he had a relationship with while he was married to Brandi Glanville and dating Scheana Shay. Scheana herself got engaged, then married, then divorced while appearing on "Vanderpump Rules," and is now reportedly engaged to Brock Davies, per Us Weekly, with whom she shares one child.
Even Brandi, who has (understandably!) been pretty put-out over her former husband's multiple affairs, has buried the hatchet. During "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 9 after-show, Brandi went so far as to say Scheana kind of saved her. "The good thing about her is that I thought LeAnn was just the onetime thing," Brandi said (via The Daily Dish). "But when I found out about her, she saved me because I left him."
These days, much to the confusion of their friends, Brandi and Scheana are kinda-sorta buds, according to The Daily Dish. Who doesn't love a happy ending?
