Jennifer Lopez To Star In New Romantic Comedy Second Act
Years after the releases of The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhattan, J.Lo has signed on to do yet another romantic comedy.
According to Page Six, Jennifer Lopez will star in the upcoming film Second Act, produced by STXfilms. Lopez, who will also serve as a producer, will play "a big box store employee who reinvents her life and her lifestyle, which gets her the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree."
The Hollywood Reporter notes Peter Segal (50 First Dates, Get Smart) will direct.
"There are so many things I love about this project and script," Lopez said (via THR). "People try to put women to sleep at a certain age. 'Second Act' is a story that empowers the every woman to do more, to be more, and not limit their dreams."
Lopez, 47, must love keeping busy because she already has quite a bit going on. Not only has she been working on a Spanish-language album with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, but the singer's also been filming her TV cop drama Shades of Blue while judging the reality dance competition World of Dance.
Plus, you know, she's a mom to 9-year-old twins Max and Emme, and she's dating famous former Yankee player Alex Rodriguez.
No wonder Rodriguez calls her a "role model" to his kids. The woman's a superstar!
We can't wait to learn more about Lopez's new project. No word yet on when to expect Second Act in theaters.
