Get Organized With The Home Edit Season 2 Release Date, Cast, And More Information
"Get Organized with The Home Edit" became an instant hit when it debuted on Netflix in 2020. The show saw businesswoman and clutter clearing experts Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin attempt to transform the living spaces of regular people and celebrities by making things much more organized. Or, as Netflix puts it on the show's official bio, they "categorize and contain their clutter to create stunning spaces."
The first season of the show attracted a whole host of famous faces who were looking to reinvent their living arrangements, particularly their massive closets. Big names, and we mean big names, turned to Clea and Joanna, including Reese Witherspoon, Khloé Kardashian, Eva Longoria, and Neil Patrick Harris. The show also has some very familiar faces behind the scenes as well, as it was produced in collaboration with Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine production company and Molly Sims' eponymous Molly Sims Productions.
The first batch of episodes were seriously well received too, even gaining a Daytime Emmy nomination for Instructional or How To Program. Not bad! Not bad at all.
That first season debuted on the streaming service all the way back in September 2020, meaning more than a year has now passed without brand new episodes to bless our tidy TV binge cravings. So, is a Season 2 actually happening and when can we expect to see it?
When will Get Organized with The Home Edit Season 2 be released?
Well, there's good and bad news here. Netflix is yet to officially confirm a release date for "Get Organized with The Home Edit" Season 2, but a second season will be going ahead — it's just a question of when we'll actually see it.
The streamer first made it clear that we'd be getting more in 2021 when the show issued a casting call. "Get Organized" had an online application form open for those looking for Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin's help, and asked for all those looking to nominate themselves or someone else to be on the show by May 5.
We then got official confirmation via The Home Edit's official Instagram account on September 17 that filming on Season 2 had officially wrapped. Some of the cast and crew posed alongside each other for a snap to celebrate the news, with the hosts thanking their team in the caption. They also shared special praise for Reese Witherspoon and Molly Sims, before adding another special shoutout to "all of YOU who continue to cheer us on" (that's us viewers).
So it sounds like those new episodes could be being edited as you read, suggesting the new season will debut on Netflix sometime in 2022.
Get Organized With The Home Edit Season 2 cast
So now we know there definitely is a Season 2 of "Get Organized with The Home Edit" on the way, who exactly will be featured? Well, The Home Edit's Instagram post confirmed hosts Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin will definitely be back, while we also know that those big stars behind the scenes — Reese Witherspoon and Molly Sims — will be involved via their production companies.
As for which famous could be popping up to help out? Well, right now, that's anyone's guess. It's definitely possible Witherspoon and Sims could pop out from behind the camera to say hi, but we'll just have to wait and see when it comes to which famous names will be appearing to rival Season 1's impressive roster of familiar faces.
It sounds like it won't only be A-Listers getting some help with their clutter, though. Clea explained to Entertainment Weekly in September 2020 that the people just like you and me are actually just as popular as the people we already know and love. "I think that people assumed that everyone's gonna only want to watch the celebrity and not stick around for the full episode to see the non-celebrity. I don't think that that happened," she shared.
But that doesn't mean Clea doesn't have celebs on her dream guest list. Among those she'd like to see on Season 2? Beyoncé, Meryl Streep, Chrissy Teigen, and Kristin Bell, while Joanna opted for Kerry Washington.
What else you need to know about Get Organized with The Home Edit Season 2
It sounds like "Get Organized with The Home Edit" Season 2 will follow the same formula as Season 1, with Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin helping both a celebrity and a non-celebrity in the same episode. Clea admitted to Entertainment Weekly in September 2020 when discussing the first season that it "was the format [they] discussed initially with Netflix" when the streamer first picked up the show, meaning it's pretty likely to follow that same format again. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?
One thing that might be different though is the twosome's base and where we actually get to see them working. In October 2021, Clea and Joanna gave People a look inside their colorful new HQ in Nashville, which the hosts have named "The Home Edit House." They also confirmed to the outlet that they'd filmed content in the new location, making it pretty likely fans will get a peek inside in new episodes.
