Elton John To Resume Las Vegas Residency After Major Health Scare
Nothing keeps the "Tiny Dancer" singer down for long.
Just over a month after being hospitalized for a "harmful and unusual" bacterial infection, Elton John is reportedly ready to hit the Las Vegas stage once again. Page Six reports that John will resume his The Million Dollar Piano residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace by October 2017. He's even added new dates to the production—resulting in a whopping 27 shows total.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, John had been forced to cancel his April and May shows after he fell ill following a trip to Santiago, Chile in late April. He spent two nights in the intensive care unit at a hospital and was under doctor's orders to rest. At the time, he released a statement, addressing his fans and thanking the medical staff that cared for him. "I am so fortunate to have the most incredible and loyal fans and apologize for disappointing them," John said. "I am extremely grateful to the medical team for their excellence in looking after me so well."
Million Dollar Piano attendees can certainly expect a good time. The 70-year-old will perform all of his old hits during his shows—spanning several decades-worth of chart-toppers.
Tickets for the new show dates go on sale on June 10, 2017.
