The Untold Truth Of Anni Krueger
Anni Krueger may not be a household name yet, but chances are you've seen her on screen before or at the very least heard her voice. Her credits include the Emmy-winning show "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and the Prime series "The Romanoffs." She's also acted on the big screen in films like Netflix's "Super Dark Times" and the horror-comedy "Werewolves Within." But if you're a fan of made-for-TV holiday movies then you probably recognize her most from the Lifetime film "A Taste of Christmas," where she starred opposite Gilles Marini and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" star Nia Vardalos.
What's more, she happens to have a solid music career, too. For Krueger, whether it's through singing or acting, she told The WC Courier, "I want to tell a story, and I love connecting people with that. It feels very natural for me."
Outside of her work in the entertainment industry, Krueger has a lot going on. And while she doesn't actually live anywhere near Hollywood, it appears that being in show business has alway been something she was destined to do. With new projects in the works, it's clear that Krueger's star is finally on the rise, so let's get to know the Iowa native better.
Anni Krueger's first lead role was a Lifetime movie
Anni Krueger's first major role was in the Lifetime holiday movie "A Taste of Christmas." She gushed to The WC Courier right before it aired in November 2020, "I'm just so excited to have a film to share with everyone that is uplifting and joyful." Yet Krueger apparently did have some reservations when it came to taking the role. "I worried that I'd miss the Christmas spirit working and not being home, but it just felt so Christmas-y and lovely," she revealed.
Krueger also knew that working for Lifetime was a pretty big step in her career. "They have millions of viewers every year," she told the outlet. "I hope it opens more doors for me." Krueger wasn't used to that kind of spotlight though. As she said on the "Dear Actor Podcast," "I went from basically being a co-star actor to leading a movie." But that jump seemed to be meant to be. "I was just so much this character, just innately, it's like who I am," she said. "It was an incredible experience. It was like something I never thought would happen to me."
Krueger also took to her Instagram to promote the movie, doing a countdown until its premiere and sharing when it aired. She gushed about how special filming was in one post, writing that it was "more than I could have ever imagined," adding that she "will remember the three weeks we spent filming in Helen, GA for the rest of my life."
Anni Krueger does vocals for TV shows
Anni Krueger may be known for her acting, but her original goal was to be a singer. She revealed to The WC Courier, "Music has been part of my life since I was super little, so I emailed recording studios in New York and procured a job." However, she kind of just stumbled into acting instead, telling the "Dear Actor Podcast" (10:06), "I came here to sing ... I got into commercials, and then I had a couple friends that were actors but I never really categorized myself as an actor."
Krueger did point out, "I still work as a musician but now the acting is separate." Yet a lot of Krueger's singing is done for TV. The "Super Dark Times" star has actually been working as a vocalist for multiple small screen programs since 2015, according to her website. Most notably she's done vocals for Disney's "Just Roll With It" and Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer." Krueger gushed about that gig on her Instagram, writing, "Singing another song for Inside @amyschumer tonight...Two seasons in a row?! Whaaaattttt!! TO LIFE!"
Krueger has also shared herself recording music, taking selfies in the booth and working in the studio. For Krueger, it doesn't seem to matter whether she's working in front of the camera as an actor or behind the scenes doing the vocals. She said in The WC Courier, "I love the art of storytelling so much that it doesn't matter whether it's a song, a TV show or movie."
Anni Krueger loves a behind-the-scenes photo
From the looks of her Instagram, it appears that Anni Krueger really loves her job, so much so that she often gives her followers a behind-the-scenes look into her life as an actor. In November 2021 for example, she shared photos from the set of the CBS series "FBI," where she had a guest starring role. She wrote in the caption, "I had a blast working on this incredible show." Krueger has even given fans a glimpse at what it's like off the set by posting selfies from her trailer and the makeup chair.
"The Bread Factory" actor isn't afraid to give her followers a sneak peak of what she's working on either. In October 2020, she posted a photo teasing that she had something "coming soon." In another photo she was dressed in 1950s attire for a gig and wrote in the caption, "Can't wait for you guys to see this one."
Krueger also likes to reminisce on her past filming experiences. Of course, she's shared backstage photos from her movie, "A Taste of Christmas," writing in a post, "I look back on those 3 weeks in Georgia and I am still convinced it must have been a dream. " But Krueger isn't just about set life. She seems to like a good wrap party too and shared a video of her attending the one for her film, "Werewolves Within." Krueger's social media proves that her job probably doesn't feel like work.
Anni Krueger has a Christmas single
It appears the holidays are extra special for Anni Krueger, not only because a Christmas movie was her first leading role, but also because she has her very own Christmas song. The vocalist released the single "I Wish I Could Go Home This Christmas" in December 2020. Krueger shared a video of her and her family celebrating Xmas on her Instagram to go along with the tune. While she wrote that it was her first holiday single, the mom of one has definitely recorded music before.
According to Krueger's website, she has sung on multiple albums for other artists, including Billie Williams and Trevor Moore. In 2013, she told Hudson Valley One that she was working on her own full-length pop album. While it's unclear if Krueger ever released it, she opened up about how she sometimes puts "too much pressure" on herself when it comes to making music. "I'm starting to become more comfortable with just hearing my voice back on a recording. It's a very personal thing to record yourself singing," she said. "It's taken several years to be comfortable and confident in myself."
Krueger is seemingly confident enough to take her talents on stage. She's posted about some of performances on her Instagram, either when plugging an upcoming gig or sharing photos of herself singing. In one video post from 2017 she even gushed, "Played a sold out show this weekend." It's clear that Krueger is multi-talented as an artist.
The stage called to her early on
For Anni Krueger, performing has apparently been part of her life since she was very young. According to The WC Courier, the Iowa native started dancing when she was just three years old and made her stage debut three years later. She shared a photo from around that time of her life on her Instagram, dressed up for a performance. Krueger dished on the "Dear Actor Podcast," (9:35),"I did grow up doing musical theater and it was always, for me, a stage...I wanted to be a singer more than anything but I had no idea how to go about doing that."
Krueger went on to perform in her high school's musical productions and even took classes at a community college during her senior year. Krueger already knew that she was meant to pursue the arts after graduation. She recalled to The WC Courier, "My car was packed before the ceremony. I drove straight through the night. I'd never been to New York before."
Of course, Krueger's risk paid off. It probably helped that her family was most likely supportive since her parents were musicians too. She revealed to Hudson Valley One, "They both dropped out of college and still found awesome jobs...We weren't the richest family in town but I don't remember having a struggle, so I admire them for that." She added, "That's a hard thing when you have artists as parents... I want to be my own hero for my child just like my parents."
Anni Krueger is married
When Anni Krueger isn't singing or acting, she does have a personal life which consists of her love for over a decade, her husband Charles Fredericks. It's unclear when they got together, but it seems they didn't meet on set since Fredericks is a furniture designer. Yet Krueger really admires Fredericks' work. She dished to Hudson Valley One, "I think it's amazing. I'm super-impressed by the amount of skills you have to have to be able to build things." She continued, "I spend some time in his studio with him when he's building and I really love to learn about that."
Fredericks, of course, has appeared on Krueger's social media as well. Not only has she shared cute selfies together and fun photos of them goofing off, but she also referred to him as "my love" in one photo caption, and "hunk of burning love" in another post. It seems the two know how to have fun together, like when she posted them attending the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021.
Her husband, for his part, appears to like to gush about his wife as well, whether he's honoring her for Mother's Day or her birthday. In one post in particular, he proved how enamored he was, writing in the caption how she's a "Best friend/wife/mother/singer/actor/model who literally achieved every goal set for 2018! Who does that? Truly amazed lady. I love you!" In another post, he called her "My world," even adding, "I can't get enough of her."
Anni Krueger is a mom
Anni Krueger isn't just a wife, she's also a mother. Her son, Fenwick, was born sometime in 2010, according to The WC Courier. Krueger appears to be very close with him, often posting about their adventures together on her Instagram. In one post, she shared how he's her "travel buddy," and in another she shared a photo of them trick-or-treating together on Halloween. Krueger made it clear that Fenwick is not only a "Mama's Boy" but also her "bestie."
Krueger even shared an extra special moment with Fenwick from a screening of her movie "A Taste of Christmas." She revealed in the caption, "At the end my son screamed "THAT'S MY MOM", which was obviously the best part." However, it's not all mushy moments between mother and son. In a video of her dancing silly in 2020 she pointed out that she's "Always doing my best to embarrass my child."
For Krueger, balancing her busy acting and singing career with being a mother seems to come naturally. She dished on the "Dear Actor Podcast," "It's not as hard as it looks, for me, at least, personally. I like to be busy and function more efficiently when I'm overwhelmed." She added that it's her son who's her biggest motivation. "He's my fire. I don't even want to do it for myself as much as I want to do it for my kid so he knows that it's possible to pursue something that feels bigger than you, and that it can happen," she said.
Anni Krueger spends her free time in nature
While singing and acting is clearly Anni Krueger's passion and her work, she seems to enjoy spending her free time in nature. When "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" actor isn't sharing photos on her Instagram from TV/movie sets or recording studios, she's often posting photos that show her taking in the great outdoors. Whether it's biking on the beach with her son or picking leaves on a hike, it appears Krueger can often be found outside. Even her cat seemingly shares her hobby, since Krueger dished how her pet "comes on walks in the woods with me."
A lot of Krueger's feed is also filled with beautiful shots of nature landscapes like the Hudson River or the sunset on the beach. Additionally, it looks like a lot of her family outings happen somewhere where they can appreciate the environment. She's shared photos of her family by the water in Maine, as well as herself hanging out amongst the trees in the Catskills.
When it comes to plants, Krueger is especially into mushrooms, often sharing photos of her cool fungi finds. She even was a mushroom for Halloween in 2021 and celebrated National Mushroom Day. She apparently enjoys picking her own produce too, having posted photos grabbing peaches right off the tree and doing some apple picking. For Krueger, her life may be glamorous while at work, but it's clear when it comes to her downtime, she likes to be in tune with nature.
The stress that comes with her line of work
While Anni Krueger appears to be doing well when it comes to finding work in Hollywood, her net worth remains unclear. Since she mostly does guest starring roles or vocal work for TV shows, it's safe to assume the pay for both gigs ranges, depending on the job. However, Krueger has mentioned how her particular career choice does come with financial struggles. She admitted to Hudson Valley One in 2013, "There's constant stress. Whether it's thinking of where Fenwick's going to go to school or whether I'm going to have a job this month," adding, "The work I do is so inconsistent."
Yet for Krueger, following her dreams makes it all worth it, telling Hudson Valley One, "[F]or me it's 'do what you love to do. Don't settle." Krueger does have advice for those struggling to make it as an actor. She told the "Dear Actor Podcast," "My advice is just to show up and say yes, like say yes to every audition that comes even if you don't think it's right." She added, "It's an opportunity to be seen by casting, it's an opportunity to learn, to grow, and you never know, sometimes you don't think you're right for something but they love you."
The tactic has worked for Krueger since in 2021 she did her first red carpet for her film "Werewolves Within," and soon after for the premiere of "The Girl Who Got Away." It seems Krueger's hitting new levels of success which is probably increasing her bank account.
Anni Krueger lives in New York
Anni Krueger is obviously an up and coming TV and movie star but that doesn't mean she lives in Hollywood or anywhere even near it. Krueger actually lives outside New York City. The "FBI" actor told Hudson Valley One that she has lived in that area since she was 18 years old after leaving her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa. She recalled on the "Dear Actor Podcast," "I moved to New York the day I graduated high school, my car was packed and I said peace out and left." That's not to say Krueger doesn't have some hometown pride though. In 2020, she shared a photo of an article about her movie "A Taste of Christmas" in a Cedar Valley newspaper, writing in the caption, "When your hometown paper writes about it."
Yet Krueger clearly doesn't regret her decision to settle down in New York. She gushed that when it comes to her town, "It's special to me because I feel more at home here than I did where I grew up." She added that the "huge amount of artists" plays a factor, saying, "I love that you can go anywhere and find music. Anyone you talk to is a producer or a writer or a filmmaker."
Krueger apparently loves her surroundings too, sharing photos of where she calls "home." In one post, she even gushed, "Damn, we are fortunate." For Krueger, it doesn't seem to matter where home base is, since Hollywood is still calling.
