The Real Reason Kourtney Kardashian Once Slapped Jonathan Cheban

The Kardashian-Jenner family is no stranger to drama, and sometimes, it gets physical. Some of those physical altercations were documented on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," showing everyone that they, too, are your typical siblings who get on each other's nerves and occasionally throw hands when things get too heated.

Since the show mainly followed how Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie live their day-to-day, we were given a glimpse of a handful of epic sibling fights, many of which are ingrained in our collective memory. If you're a fan of the series, you undoubtedly remember the relatively recent episode where Kourtney and Kim had got into a physical fight because Kourtney refused to film for the show. The physical brawl left Khloé not knowing what to do, and they had to temporarily shut down production after that. Of course, there was also the time Kourtney and Khloé got jealous that Kim had gotten a Bentley — and when Kim heard they were talking behind her back, she smacked Khloe with her purse, saying, "Don't be f*****g rude!"

While most fights that occurred on the show only involved the family members, there are times where their friends get pulled into the drama. That's what happened to Jonathan Cheban, one of Kim's best friends, when he found himself on the receiving end of a slap from Kourtney. What went down?

Kourtney slapped Jonathan over something he said regarding Scott Disick

Fans of the show know that Kourtney Kardashian is often indifferent over drama; she's the type who doesn't let herself be too worked up on trivial matters. But there was one moment in 2013 — when a fight between her and Kim allowed her feelings to get the best of her — and she slapped Kim's BFF Jonathan Cheban.

On the "KUWTK" spinoff "Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami," Jonathan somehow got roped into a fight between Kourtney and Kim. Kim was arguing with Kourtney for refusing to take on publicity work for their clothing line. (Sense a theme in Kim's ongoing beef with Kourtney?) Jonathan came to Kim's defense, saying: "Without Kim, you'd be nothing. She'd been working 360 days while you've been pregnant [twice] and doing nothing."

"Your entire job is following Kim all the time," Kourtney rebutted. "You are shoved so far up Kim's a**." In the heat of the moment, Jonathan called her "delusional" and a "psycho" — and then refuted with a statement he probably shouldn't have said. "Now I know why Scott [Disick]'s never going to marry you," he argued. "Because you're a b***h!" Kourtney ended up slapping him in response

But all's well that ends well, and the two eventually made up — so much so that they can laugh about it now.

Kourtney wasn't the only Kardashian to get into a fight with Jonathan

All is good between Jonathan Cheban and the Kardashian-Jenner clan now — to the point where they reference the slap seen 'round the world in hilariously Kardashian fashion. In fact, on Jonathan's birthday this year, Kim shared an Instagram story of the birthday cake she gave her friend. Per Entertainment Tonight, the dessert had a photo of the iconic slap printed on it, with Kourtney's infamous quote — "You're shoved so far up Kim's a**" — written in frosting.

While Kim and Jonathan are longtime BFFs, it's not without some squabbles, too. But according to Jonathan, they only ever had one major fight. "The only time we fought was on TV with my business partner [Scott Huck]," Jonathan told the Daily Mail, explaining that it seemed to him that the reality star was agreeing with Scott, instead of defending her best friend. "That's the only time I didn't answer her calls, I was furious about it. ... That's the only time in 10 years, we literally don't fight."

When asked what his relationship is like with the Kardashian-Jenner family now, he said that they're all on good terms. "If Kim calls me, I pick up the phone, whenever it is. If I email her, she'll respond a minute later, even with four kids, same with Kris [Jenner]," he said. "It's very normal. Everyone is still there for each other."
