Crikey! It's The Irwins Season 4 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far
When Steve Irwin died in 2006, he left a media empire in his wake. For those that might not remember, Irwin was a conservationist and reality star. His show "The Crocodile Hunter" involved him traveling around the world and observing endangered animals. On the side, he also worked at the Sydney Zoo with his wife, Terri Irwin.
When he died, fans around the world were heartbroken, and there was a hole left in the reality TV lineup. Decades later, though, his children, Bindi and Robert Irwin, along with Terri, began appearing on TV again. After a couple of one-off appearances here and there and a few canceled shows, the fam landed "Crikey! It's the Irwins," a reality show with Animal Planet, and now Discovery+, beginning in 2018, per IMDb.
The show was an instant success. Season 3 just wrapped, and people are already eager for more. So, what's the deal with "Crikey! It's the Irwins" Season 4? Has it been renewed, and if so, when will it air? Who will it star in, and what's new? We've got all the answers below.
When will Season 4 air?
If you're already a fan of "Crikey! It's the Irwins," then we have good and bad news. As of this writing, "Crikey! It's the Irwins" has yet to be officially renewed by Discovery+. Before you freak out, though, let's get to the good news. Just because "Crikey! It's the Irwins" hasn't been officially renewed doesn't mean it won't be. By all accounts "Crikey! It's the Irwins" is a very popular show, so there's no reason to think Discovery would want to pull the plug on production.
So, if "Crikey! It's the Irwins" is renewed, when can we hope to see Season 4? Let's do some math, shall we? Season 3 premiered in February, and concluded in June, per IMDb. Because the show has yet to be officially renewed by the network, the cast has not started filming. The most recent season chronicled the last few months of Bindi Irwin's pregnancy, giving us an idea of how long filming lasts.
Best case scenario if "Crikey! It's the Irwins" were renewed tomorrow and went into production next week, filming wouldn't be complete for several months, which means we'd then have to wait a bit for editing. Long story short, we aren't sure when "Crikey! It's the Irwins?" is coming back, but we have a good feeling it will be renewed and we'll see it in the new year.
Who's in the cast?
Because "Crikey! It's the Irwins" has yet to be officially renewed, it's impossible to say what the cast will look like. Having said that, we can safely assume that the core cast will return. That means we'll see more of Terri Irwin, Robert Irwin, Bindi Irwin, and her husband, Chandler Powell — and of course their new baby.
Chandler and Bindi married in 2020 and welcomed their first child, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, a year later (on their wedding anniversary no less), per People. Even though she's just a tot, it's likely that Grace, or her parents' interactions with her, will play a big part in the new season, as fans simply can't get enough of the adorable kid!
Otherwise, it's hard to guess how the cast might shake-up — if it all. There's no reason to think that any of the core cast members would want to leave. There's always a chance that someone might join though. Maybe Robert will start seriously dating someone and bring them into the mix? The teen has been tied to at least two different women.
So, who knows? Even if we don't get a new love interest from Robert, we'll definitely get some great baby content.
What will the new season be about?
As we mentioned above, it's more than likely that Season 4 of "Crikey! It's the Irwins" will focus heavily on Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell's journey into parenthood as they raise their young daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. For Bindi and Chandler, the transition into parenthood was natural. "When we first got her home, it's as if she's always been with us," Bindi told People in June weeks after giving birth. "It's a really strange feeling when you can't remember what your life was like before this beautiful little person. I never knew love like this before."
If social media is any indication, Chandler and Bindi just can't get enough of Grace. Case in point, in a recent Instagram post celebrating seven months with their daughter Bindi wrote, "Expectation vs. Reality (swipe)," under two photos of Grace. One sees her laughing and in the other, she's sticking out her tongue. "Grace Warrior is 7 months old!" Bindi continued. "She loves snuggles, adventure, trying new food, grabbing everything and giggles. Apparently koalas are especially funny. Infinite love for our little Wildlife Warrior." We love the sweet content!
So, we can't say what exactly the new season of "Crikey! It's the Irwins" will be about. But we think we speak for everyone when we say that we hope we see a whole lot more of baby Grace whenever it does hit screens!
