Who Is Yordan Alvarez's Wife, Monica Alvarez?

Baseball player Yordan Alavarez's name landed squarely on the tip of tongues everywhere when the Houston Astros defeated the Boston Red Sox and secured their spot at this year's World Series. And that was no doubt largely in part due to Alvarez's stellar performance on the field. "It was all about focus," the outfielder dished during a post-game interview with ESPN's Marly Rivera on October 23. "That's all I wanted to do. I wanted to do damage and that's what happened."

But as we all know, every great man needs a support system "on deck," and for Yordan, that support comes from Monica Alvarez. She's Yordan's wife and the mother of their two children. Shortly after the Astros scored the W against the Red Sox, a proud Monica took to Instagram to post a celebratory selfie wherein she was decked out from head to toe in Houston Astros merch with an unmistakable winning smile plastered all over her face! Go Astros!

But besides being her husband's No. 1 fan, what else is there to know about Yordan's stunning other half? 

Monica Alvarez (née Quiros, per TMZ) is clearly a very loving mother to her and Yordan Alvarez's two children; a daughter and a son.

Back in November 2018, Monica posted newborn photos of their daughter. "Mommy and dad are so I [sic] love with you princess," she gushed in the caption followed by the crown emoji. In July of this year, history appeared to repeat itself when Monica posted photos of another addition to the growing family, a son she referred to as "Baby J." "The Astros new rookie of the year," the playful caption read. Aw! 

Though we don't know much about the little tykes, including their names, we do know that just like their mother, they also enjoy cheering on their dad! Along with beautifully staged newborn photos, Monica has posted many real-life candid photos of the children enjoying time at Minute Maid Park, the home of their famous dad's baseball team. Sounds like the ultimate childhood, no?! 

Make no mistake about it, though. Professional baseball player Yordan Alvarez is just as proud of his wife Monica Alvarez and children as they are of him — and it's obvious that his family is at the top of his list of priorities.

As reported by CBS Sports, following the birth of his son, Alvarez opted to take paternity leave and subsequently missed three consecutive games. But make no mistake, once his leave was over, he returned to the diamond with a vengeance! Per The Crawfish Boxes, Yordan enjoyed what the Houston Astros online community referred to as a "monster night." Later, in a moment of irony, a Houston Chronicle reporter tweeted, "Yordan Alvarez said the baby didn't sleep through the night until last night. He was somewhat tired today." If that's what tired looks like, we'll take Alvarez's version of tired any day. No matter the outcome of the World Series, the members of this family will always be winners in our eyes!
