More of Alec Baldwin's family members are showing their support for the actor after the tragedy that happened on the "Rust" set. On Thursday, October 21, Baldwin was involved in the on-set shooting that left director Joel Souza injured and cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead. Per AP News, the actor misfired a prop gun he didn't know contained live rounds, resulting in the devastating, unforeseen event.
It didn't take long for the Baldwin family to share their take on the situation. His niece, Hailey Bieber, daughter of Alec's brother Stephen Baldwin, took to Instagram to sympathize with the people involved in the tragedy. "Sending all my love to the family of Halyna Hutchins. This is a truly unimaginable and devastating tragedy," Biever wrote via Instagram Story the day after the incident (per People). "My thoughts are also with Joel Souza as he recovers."
Bieber's statement comes after Alec's series of tweets sharing how devastated he was over what happened. "There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours," he wrote. "I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna."

On the morning following the accident, Alec Baldwin's brother and Hailey Bieber's father, Stephen Baldwin, shared an Instagram post asking everyone to keep those involved in their thoughts. "Asking for your prayers tonight," he said. "Friends, not much can be said other than please pray for all involved in the wake of this tragic accident. Thank you."
Alec's daughter, Ireland Baldwin, also took to her Instagram Storyto show her sympathy for Hutchins' family and Souza. "My love and support go to Halyna Hutchins' family and friends. Sending healing thoughts to Joel Souza." She added a touching message for her father, too, per Entertainment Tonight. "And wishing I could hug my dad extra tight today."
As of this writing, Alec has decided to take a step back from acting and stop working on his other projects to recuperate. A source close to the star told People that he is going to "take some time to himself and re-center himself" after everything that's happened. Apparently, this is what he usually does during tumultuous moments in his life. "This is how he handles difficult times," the source added. "Whenever something bad happens, in the short term, he removes himself from [the] public eye."
