The Real Reason Megan Fox Was Banned From Walmart

Between starring in films like "Transformers" and "Jennifer's Body" to making headlines for dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly, it goes without saying that Megan Fox is a household name. The actor and model got her start in the entertainment industry at a young age, appearing in the film "Holiday in the Sun," followed by guest star appearances on shows like "What I Like About You" and "Two and a Half Men." These days, the 35-year-old is a newly divorced mother with three children (per Elle).

And while Fox's many credits are known across the world, something fans may not know about the actor is that she was caught shoplifting in Walmart in her younger years, according to Express. Specifically, Fox stole makeup from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's makeup line. In 2009, she told Express that she isn't even sure whether the ban still stands. What else do we know about Fox's brief thieving incident? Read on.

Megan Fox went to court over the Walmart incident

In her interview with Express, Megan Fox revealed that she was just 14 or 15 when she stole from the department store. She explained, "They actually took me into the court and I had two choices and I took the second choice, which was wrapping [gifts] for Christmas, which was awesome, it wasn't really a punishment. The other one was they were gonna make me wear a sign that said I stole from Wal-Mart and stand outside Wal-Mart for three days." As of 2009, Fox still refused to shop at Walmart, saying, "I don't know if the ban was for life," per Express.

As many fans are aware, Fox spent years out of the limelight after Hollywood "dumped" her for sharing negative comments about director Michael Bay (per Looper). When she spoke to Wonderland in 2009, she made a controversial statement about the director, saying, "He's like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad man reputation." She added, "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is," and went as far as adding that he was a "nightmare" to work for.

Inside Megan Fox's return to Hollywood

These days, Megan Fox is making headlines once again — for positive reasons — and she's even booked a new role. According to E! News, Fox will appear in the new thriller, "Johnny & Clyde." She even shared a photo of her transformation on Instagram, writing, "This is what the devil's daughter looks like."

E! News reports that Fox is playing a crime boss who goes by the name of Alana Hart in the movie. (We're guessing that doesn't include any Walmart-related crimes, though.) When director Tom DeNucci spoke to Bloody Disgusting recently, he shared of Fox, "I think horror fans can look forward to a Megan Fox that nobody has ever seen before. I'm not gonna say anything, but there's something very different about her characteristically, in her appearance, that she's never attempted to put out there before. A very bold performance by Megan, just something that she really, really leaned into."

Fans can expect "Johnny & Clyde" to be released in spring 2022.
