Dr. Pimple Popper Season 7 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far

TLC's hit series "Dr. Pimple Popper" burst onto the scene in 2018 after Dr. Pimple Popper herself (née Sandra Lee) had already established quite the cult following of like-minded individuals who loved to watch her get to work extracting various blackheads, cysts, comedones and the like on her Instagram account and YouTube channel. "At one point, my channel was bringing in six figures a month, and that was ridiculous. I was like, 'This is what I'm doing from now on. I'm just gonna pop people and this is my life, and I'm okay with that,'" Lee told Wealthsimple. Alas, what goes up, must come down and when YouTube demonetized her channel (which is fancy speak for the platform no longer allowing content creators to benefit from paid ads) Lee needed a plan B: her very own show on the TLC channel.

Now on the heels of its sixth season, many Popaholics (as Lee affectionately refers to them) are left pining for their next fix. Keep reading to learn everything we know about Season 7 for the popular reality television series.

When will Pimple Popper Season 7 drop?

Sorry, Popaholics. Unfortunately there's still no word yet on a Season 7 of everyone's guiltiest pleasure, "Dr. Pimple Popper."

As reported by Premiere Date, a Season 7 for the reality series has yet to be announced. Womp, womp, womp. But rest easy, stans — it doesn't appear that the hit show is going anywhere anytime soon. During an interview with Wealthsimple, Dr. Sandra Lee relished in the good the show was doing for the public. "We're entertaining people, but educating them, too. And why can't I easily educate them about their acne? And then be able to tell them 'Okay, because you have this kind of acne and can't see a dermatologist, you should know that these are the types of things that work for you and why, and this is why you need to get this kind of product.'"

Lee also credited "Dr. Pimple Popper" for teaching her to stop and smell the roses once in a while. "I don't slow down," the dermatologist lamented before adding, "I was posting a video on YouTube every single day for a good amount of time. The only reason I slowed down is the TLC show, which I love doing." Perhaps Lee needs the show just as much as the viewers do!

What will the cast of Dr. Pimple Popper Season 7 look like?

While we don't know when (or even if) a Season 7 of TLC's "Dr. Pimple Popper" is in the works, we can almost guarantee that the cast will include the star of the reality series, Dr. Pimple Popper herself, Sandra Lee — and of course a gaggle of patients who deal with various pustules, pimples, and boils and are willing to let it all hang out for the cameras.

Fortunately, according to Lee, finding patients willing to be filmed has never been an issue. "I just ask, 'Do you mind if I videotape this? It's anonymous, it's up close. No one's gonna see that it's you that I'm working on and I'll do it for free,'" she told Wealthsimple in 2018. "If a patient has a milia that they can't get out themselves and it's driving them crazy, I say, 'I'll do it for you, but do you mind if I videotape it?' The answer is always that they don't mind."

Dr. Pimple Popper is not without its critics

Unfortunately, it hasn't been all good press for the hit reality show, "Dr. Pimple Popper."

In an article by Philly Voice, five practitioners discussed the ways in which they found the show and Dr. Sandra's Lee's practices to be problematic. "I'm not a huge lover of Dr. Pimple Popper. People squeezing at things can sometimes get them into trouble. When you squeeze a large cyst, it explodes. It might be fun to watch a video of it, but it can also lead to inflammation, it can become infected and become a problem," Dr. Jonathan Wolfe of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery Hospital opined about the popular series. Nurse practitioner Angelique Schriver echoed those same sentiments. "Through a video, you don't have all the senses engaged. You are just watching it. But cysts are extremely odorous. You can smell them right away when you open them up. If you notice, she now wears a full-face mask and a shield because they can explode. I've had cysts explode on me." YIKES.

Still, it appears Lee has won over some of her colleagues. "Initially, when I heard about the show, I felt she shortchanged us (derms) by simplifying what we do in terms of schooling and training," board-certified dermatologist Nazanin Saedi confessed. "But once I watched a few episodes, I had a change of heart. She is very professional and seems to care about her patients and does a thorough job. She is well qualified and trained and is an excellent dermatologic surgeon."
