Rappers With Really Good Looking Husbands
Female rappers have often been a rarity in their genre, as hip-hop is a male-dominated industry. However, women have interrupted the field and changed the genre, and new artists and collaborations seem to be constantly on the rise. Spotify's head of urban music, Carl Chery, told The Washington Post in 2021, "You're seeing women who emerged as early as two years ago become stars. We've never seen this. I don't think there's ever been this many female rap stars, ever."
Through innovative sounds and galvanizing lyrics, female rappers have inspired women around the globe to interrupt their fields, as well. Although most of us roll our eyes when we hear the tired phrase, "Celebrities, they're just like us," a lot of female rappers really are like us. They have relationships, families, business ideas, and multiple passions. Many of them aren't even making music anymore — they're pursuing other ventures while still influencing the world around them.
Not all female rappers are married, but many of them have settled down with partners after, and sometimes during, the height of their careers. Here are the handsome men these rappers share their lives with.
Cardi B and Offset almost divorced
Many celebrities file for divorce (R.I.P. Kimye). But few file and reconcile. Cardi B began dating Offset in 2017, and they were engaged later that year. In 2018, shortly after welcoming their first child together, rumors of Offset's infidelity circulated, causing the two to separate for a short period of time.
After reconciling and continuing their relationship for two years, Cardi B filed for divorce from her husband, per TMZ. The split was short-lived, though, and the two reconciled again. "It's really hard not to talk to your best friend," Cardi said on Instagram (via Pop Crave on Twitter).
Since their near divorce, Cardi and Offset welcomed a son, whose name they have yet to share at the time of this writing. Cardi introduced their son via Instagram, sharing a photo of her cradling her newborn next to Offset. The couple told People, "We are so overjoyed to finally meet our son. He is already loved so much by family and friends and we can't wait to introduce him to his other siblings." Fans are just as overjoyed that this rap royalty couple is still together.
Eve has been candid about her interracial marriage with Maximillion Cooper
Eve is a Grammy-winning rapper best known for hits like "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" and "Who's That Girl." She wed Maximillion Cooper, Gumball 3000 founder, in Ibiza in 2014 (per E! News). "I'm so happy to make Eve my wife," Cooper said, adding, "We are both so happy to have tied the knot."
Eve is the stepmother to Cooper's four children, and she's been candid about the discussions she's had on racism with the whole family. "They don't have to think about it unless they're close to someone who has gone through it," Eve said on TV One's "Uncensored" (via Entertainment Tonight). The conversation with her British husband and her stepchildren took place in light of countrywide protests against police brutality in the United States.
Eve noted that while she doesn't think about her and her husband's races anymore, she did when they first got together. "We are so honest with each other that we have discussions, and that's been a beautiful thing," she said on "Uncensored."
Remy Ma and Papoose informally wed while she was incarcerated
Remy Ma is best known for her work with the rap group Terror Squad, and her husband Papoose is best known for his rap career, but Gen Z might know the couple best from Travis Scott's reference to them in his hit song "SICKO MODE." The rap couple exchanged vows over the phone while Remy Ma was incarcerated and officially wed when she was released.
Papoose was a major source of support for Remy Ma while she was in jail. "The only person that 150 percent dedicated their life to me and making sure that I was okay ... was my husband," she said in an interview for TV One's "Uncensored" (via Atlanta Black Star).
The "Love & Hip Hop New York" stars renewed their vows ten years after their initial nuptials, and the two share a daughter. Remy wrote to Papoose on her Instagram, "I love you so much — not only because you are the perfect soulmate but because you are the epitome of a real man, the essence of a great father, and the definition of loyalty." A few years later, the couple shared relationship advice and opened up about their love for one another: "I knew I wanted to spend my life with my partner from the first moment I actually saw her," Papoose told Hot 97. "For me, it was love at first sight."
Roxanne Shante runs a non-profit with her husband
Roxanne Shante has been rapping for decades, releasing her first hit when she was just 14. Despite her success as a musician, she's been a victim of abuse in her life and career, particularly at the hands of her old manager, much of which was depicted in the 2017 biopic "Roxanne Roxanne."
Shante has overcome major obstacles and is married to former boxer Jabbar Ali. The two run a nonprofit organization called Mind Over Matter, where they work "with inner city youth, mainly young women from ages 13 to 18," Shante told Interview magazine."We're responsible now for well over 600 graduates of girls who were at risk. We have valedictorians, salutatorians, and these were girls who were not even going to graduate ... So I take a lot of pride in that," she added.
Shante posts about her husband on social media occasionally, showing her affection for him. "It's Ali Jabbar Day," she's said in a 2019 tweet, wishing him a happy birthday. She was both sassy and sweet for Jabbar's birthday in 2021, posting a video of him on Instagram with the caption (in part), "Being Married to me makes him smile like that."

Jean Grae's husband Quelle Chris is a rapper, too
Jean Grae married her husband, Quelle Chris, in a small 2018 ceremony, per Hip Hop Wired. Both are rappers, Grae earning her spot in hip-hop through underground scenes, Chris coming up in the Detroit rap community with the guidance of Wasted Youth member Marlow "Loose Goose" Green.
Both rappers are used to making statements, and they use their music to do so. Grae, in an interview with NPR, explained how her music-making process has changed over time, writing and releasing her raps in real-time rather than letting months or even years of time elapse. "It's not just for me. It's for you guys. So we all need to be in this space together," she said of her process.
Grae's husband, Quelle Chris, uses his music to make social commentary. "The purpose of this album is kind of to show the human element. ... The more natural and simple emotions, in my mind, are the greatest and most complex ones," he told Bandcamp Daily of his 2017 LP "Being You Is Great, I Wish I Could Be You More Often."
Grae and her husband collaborate, too. In 2018, they released a joint album called "Everything's Fine." From work to life, these two are truly partners.
Kelis and Mike Mora live on a farm together
Like many people during the COVID-19 pandemic, rapper Kelis and her husband, real estate agent and photographer Mike Mora, sought escape while quarantining, and the two settled into their farm in Temecula, California, with their family in tow, per Harper's Bazaar.
The couple married in 2014 and have since welcomed two children. Kelis has another child with her ex-husband, rapper Nas.
Kelis and Mike Mora are private people, mostly using their art to express themselves. Mora uses his Instagram account to showcase his photographic work, and Kelis' Instagram is curated with her music and food. We love her music, but we would really like to get a taste of her cooking, too.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of her album "Kaleidoscope," Kelis was touring, but the tour was cut short due to the pandemic. She later planned tour dates for 2022, per her website. Kelis also teaches a cooking class online via Skillshare. "I'm living my life. I'm cooking. I'm raising my kids and I'm very private," she told Hollywood Unlocked. We're certain the whole family's life on their farm is serving them well.

His main contribution has been to the comedic scene in Dallas, Texas, with his local series of comedy shows, "We Got Next." Rasheeda's been married to Kirk Frost for over two decades
Atlanta-based rapper Rasheeda is also an entrepreneur with businesses all over her city. She's been married to her husband Kirk Frost for more than two decades, and the two work hard to maintain a good relationship, part of which has been documented on "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta."
"The road can get really, really rough. You have to communicate and figure out a way to make sure you're taking care of each other," the rapper told Essence about navigating marital issues. Fans of the show know that Rasheeda and Kirk Frost's trust issues in their marriage (particularly his infidelity) have been a major storyline on "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta," the most popular installment of the franchise.
