The Truth About Chelsea Handler And Jo Koy

Chelsea Handler hasn't had the easiest ride when it comes to the dating game. The star's love life has barely left the headlines since the comedian and host shot to fame, with the star being linked to some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Back in 2005, Handler was linked to "In Living Color" star David Alan Grier, before she moved on to date E! Entertainment big wig Ted Harbert for three years between 2007 and 2010 after splitting with Grier in 2006. Then, of course, there was her infamous romance with rapper 50 Cent, with the two dating for a brief period in 2010.

Handler has been pretty outspoken about not having the best luck with relationships, and also hasn't been shy about speaking out about her personal life and what she's looking for in a partner. The star opened up about the romance department in October 2020 when she told WIRED while answering the internet's most searched questions about her that she's not interested in dating someone else in the spotlight.

Handler admitted at the time that she wasn't really dating anyone, but was also "not really trying to date a celebrity" and "would like a real person" to come into her life. But it looks like that plan to find romance outside the world of celebrity didn't exactly work out, as she seemingly just confirmed her blossoming romance with none other than comedian Jo Koy. But what's really going on with these two?

Love is in the air! But we're just not 100% sure between who. Chelsea Handler confirmed she's found love after weeks of speculation suggesting she's been dating Jo Koy with a very telling post on Instagram on September 20. In it, she opened up about a poignant moment she had while vacationing on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

The snap snowed Handler slightly smiling during golden hour as she looked off into the distance. "Just sitting here in Mallorca thinking about how grateful I am to have so many people that I love in my life, to live the life I do and to be going on tour doing what I love," she captioned it — before dropping the apparent romance bombshell. "And that I'm finally in love, with the best kind of guy there is. There is hope for everyone! That kind of stuff," she added. Squee!

Playing coy, Handler stopped short of tagging anyone or revealing in more specific detail the mystery guy she was gushing about. However, many fans and media outlets, including Daily Mail, assumed she was addressing her apparent romance with Koy.

The comedian — whose real name is Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr. — regularly featured on Handler's former E! talk show, "Chelsea Lately," and the two looked very cozy in late August when Handler was by Koy's side as he threw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium.

While Chelsea Handler appeared to be a little more forthcoming about her apparent romance with Jo Koy (albeit still in a pretty cryptic way) it seems keeping things on the down-low is a habit for both of them.

Koy was asked about dating Handler during a chat with "TMZ Live" in September and appeared to be just as keen to keep things quiet. When asked about those snaps of the duo at the Dodgers game, the comedian claimed that they were in fact "great friends" but also gushed over how stunning Handler is. Well, we can't blame him for that one.

Of course, these two go way back, and if they really are dating, it seems like Handler may have met her match. Koy told The Daily Beast in April that he initially turned down his role on "Chelsea Lately" but was "cursed out so hard" by her that he decided to reconsider. He recalled her saying "every curse word you could possibly think of, telling me it's the stupidest decision. And I get it. She was offended. She knew that this thing was going to be a hit."

"That's the beautiful thing about Chelsea, by the way. She shares her limelight. She shares it and she understands that it takes a team for something to be as big as it was," he added. Aww!
