Chris Evans Claims He's Never Had A Bad Breakup
Chris Evans has reportedly never had a bad breakup. Or at least, that's what he thinks.
In an interview with Elle magazine, the Captain America star admitted that he's always ended things on good terms with his exes. When asked how he handles running into former flames in Los Angeles, Evans said, "It's very rare. But I've had no bad breakups in my life. Typically, if I see an ex, I give a big hug, and it's wonderful to catch up."
The actor, 35, continued, "If you're ever fortunate enough to love someone and have them love you back, it's worth protecting that. It's rare that someone can truly know you. And if you've broken through that kind of wall, I think it's important to value that."
Well...geez. Evans is making us all look kind of bad.
If any other Hollywood actor claimed that all his previous relationships had ended amicably, we'd laugh. After all, good breakups are rare for a non-celebrity as it is. How could things work out well in the spotlight? But Evans is different. For proof, look no further than his recent split with Jenny Slate—the two may not have worked out, but they have nothing but good things to say about one another.
"I don't mind talking about him at all. He's a lovely person," Slate, 35, told New York Magazine. "Chris is truly one of the kindest people I've ever met, to the point where sometimes I would look at him and it would kind of break my heart."
Evans expressed similar sentiments about Slate in March 2017. "She's my favorite human," he said. "She's so vulnerable, so honest, so interested in other people more than herself, she's incredibly compassionate, there's just nothing to not love about her."
