Ed Sheeran Announes North American Tour Dates
Less than one week after the release of Divide, Ed Sheeran has made a big announcement. The English singer-songwriter is embarking on a massive North American tour in support of his new record.
The announcement came on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, just a few days after his impressive performance at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. The 26-year-old's tour kicks off June 29 in Kansas City, Missouri and hits 46 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Sheeran will play a total of 48 shows before ending the tour on Oct. 6 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The pop singer is releasing a small number of pre-sale tickets to fans on March 13. They go on sale at 10 a.m. local time but fans have to register before they can gain access. Tickets for the general public go on sale March 17 on Ticketmaster.
Sheeran's 12-track album, which dropped on March 3, features his newest singles, "Castle on the Hill" and "Shape of You." The latter is currently sitting pretty at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been for six weeks—and counting. According to People, "Castle on the Hill" also jumped on the chart at No. 6, which made him the first artist to ever have simultaneous top 10 single debuts.
