How Close Are Logan And Jake Paul Today?
Logan and Jake Paul are two of the most iconic social media stars today — not to mention the most polarizing. The brothers first made a name for themselves on the now-defunct video sharing app Vine before transitioning over to YouTube and taking their fans (and controversies) with them. Per Hollywood Reporter, Jake was fired in 2017 from the Disney Channel show "Bizaardvark" for his over-the-top antics that included "lighting fires in a drained swimming pool, mounting dirt-bike drag races ... and drawing crowds of fans." Not to be outdone by his younger brother, Logan garnered instant backlash in 2018 with a now-infamous video that showed him in Japan's "suicide forest," where he appeared to mock the body of a man who killed himself.
In June 2021, Logan took things to the next level by facing off against boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. In typical larger-than-life style, he spent the lead-up to the match spouting some serious smack talk, claiming that he would "knock Mayweather out and become the greatest boxer on the planet" (via Showtime). Though he failed to do so, he was elated by his ability to hold his own against Mayweather. Maybe that's because the match was far from the first time he's engaged in a fight. In fact, Logan has been known to spar with his own brother from time to time! Let's take a look at how close (or estranged) the Paul brothers are today.
Jake and Logan Paul once fought over the same girl
Siblings can sometimes have similar taste, and Jake and Logan Paul appear to be no exception. In 2017, Teen Vogue reported that the brothers once feuded over the same girl, YouTuber Alissa Violet. While the details of what occurred vary depending on who's telling the story, it seems that Jake broke up with Violet early in the year and kicked her out of the Team 10 house, a space he founded for social media personalities. The breakup was contentious, made even more so when Jake accused Alissa of cheating on him with his brother Logan (per Distractify). "This time Im not being silent ... Alissa f***ed my brother ... that's why i kicked her out ... oopsie I just told them the truth ... Im done being the 'bad guy,'" Jake wrote in a since-deleted tweet (via Distractify). While nothing was ever confirmed, Jake and Logan clearly had some beef.
In June 2017, Logan released a diss track called "The Fall of Jake Paul," where he roasted his younger brother with some very telling lyrics. Among the shady bars, he raps, "Uh-oh that's Alissa Violet, used to be your chick. Now she in the Logang and you know she on my ... team." As Genius explains, "Logan exploits the anticipated rhyme "chick," with the obvious, "d**k." Make of that what you will!
Jake and Logan Paul have traded plenty of barbs
Fighting over the same girl is just the tip of the iceberg for Logan and Jake Paul. Since 2017, the two have continued to showcase their sibling rivalry, often calling out the other for their crazy stunts. Case in point: Logan had less-than-complimentary words for Jake after he was arrested in a looting riot during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest (via Metro). Knocking his younger sibling on his "Impaulsive" podcast Logan said, "To be honest, this one is so f***ing hard for me because I love the kid. I love him, but I don't always like him. He's my brother, he's my family, he's my blood." Adding that he does "not understand why he does the things he does," Logan called the whole situation "very unfortunate but very on-brand for Jake Paul to magically be seen at a looting site."
The war of words continued when Jake slammed Logan in December 2020 as Logan set out to challenge Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing match. When asked by TMZ about his brother's chances in the ring, Jake pulled no punches by calling the match-up "bad for the sport." He continued, "I think it's just for clout. You know my brother's a fake fighter; I'm the real fighter." Judging by the fact that these two never pass up the chance to talk smack about each other, they might just earn a spot on the list of celebrity sibling rivalries.
