Celebs You Never Knew Were Parents To Twins
It's pretty much a given fact at this point that Beyoncé had the best pregnancy announcement of all time (and we didn't even need Kanye West to bring it to our attention). However, there have actually have been quite a few celebrity couples before Queen B and Jay-Z to have twins –shocking we know. In honor of the momentous occasion, here are some celebrities who should definitely consider setting up future twin play dates with the Knowles-Carter twins.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
Don't be fooled by the rocks (and hot body) that she's got: "Jenny From the Block" has twins! In 2008, Lopez welcomed twins Emme and Max with ex-husband, Marc Anthony, on Feb. 28.
To find adorable pictures of the twins, you need look no further than J-Lo's Instagram account; however, even though Lopez has 58 million Instagram followers and counting, their mama's social media accounts are by no means Max and Emme's biggest stage. Yep, at the young age of two, the adorable youngsters were featured with their mama in a campaign for Gucci. They've also graced the cover of People not once, but twice! Not too shabby considering they haven't even hit double digits. With a multi-talented mom like J-Lo, the sky is the limit for what these two can do.
Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth
In 2014, Chris Hemsworth temporarily traded in his Thor hammer for a baby rattle to celebrate the birth of his twin sons, Tristan and Sasha. They were first introduced to the world in an Instagram post from their mom, Elsa Pataky, with the caption "You are home! Tristan and Sasha arrived into the world on March 18 just after the full moon. Complete happiness!" in her native language, Spanish.
Since their birth, the twins have been the stars of numerous social media posts from both Pataky and Hemsworth, who just can't seem to stop gushing about their two little blondies. Every candid looks like a full-blown family photo shoot and we can't help but feel the Pataky-Hemsworth family are totally goals.
Ricky Martin
Everyone knows that Ricky Martin has been "livin' la vida loca" for quite some time now, but what you may not know is that part of said "vida loca" includes his twin boys, Matteo and Valentino. The twins were born in August 2008 via a surrogate mother. In an interview with People, Martin talked about how he considered adoption but ultimately decided surrogacy was the more intriguing option because he was ready to jump into fatherhood. These days, you can find the 8-year-old Martin boys on the road with their dad not only as his biggest fans, but also as his biggest critics.
Céline Dion and René Angélil
Céline Dion and her late husband, Rene Angelil, had their first child in 2001, but it would not be until 2010 when the couple would welcome twins Eddy and Nelson. One of the primary reasons for the substantial gap between children was Dion's struggle with fertility. After undergoing six in-vitro fertilization attempts, Dion was "ecstatic" upon receiving the news that after nine long years she was going to be having not one but two children. Eddy is named after Eddy Marnay, who produced Dion's first five records, while Nelson got his name from the late Nelson Mandela.
After the passing of Angelil in January 2016, Dion was presented with the difficult task of explaining the death to her two youngest children. She used the Disney children's movie Up to make the concept of death easier for them to understand by telling them that their father had "gone up" with the balloons. Despite the circumstances, Angelil's heart and soul will surely go on through his children.
Nancy Grace and David Linch
Although to the world Nancy Grace is best known for her candid commentary on high-profile cases, to Lucy Elizabeth and John David, she's just mom. At the age of 47, Grace didn't think that she would be able to start a family; but despite some initial complications prior to the twins' birth, her little boy and girl came into the world in November 2007. Grace lovingly refers to them as her miracle babies. Both are named in honor of family member's on both sides. While Grace is probably an awesome mom, based on her TV show, we're sure that those kids don't get away with anything.
Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell
Rebecca Romijn gave birth to twins girls, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, in December 2008. The fraternal twins are Romijn and husband Jerry O'Connell's first children together. While a lot of twins at some point fight over who is actually the oldest, Romijn and O'Connell have taken that argument off the table for their girls. In an interview with Popsugar, Romijn said that her and O'Connell decided that the twins would never know who was actually born first. Since the actress had a c-section, she plans on operating under the assumption that Dolly and Charlie were born at the exact same time. With that brilliant strategy plan under their belts before their daughters were even born, Romijn and O'Connell are definitely going to make A-plus parents.
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, David Burtka, welcomed Harper Grace and Gideon Scott into the world in October 2010 via a surrogate mother. What is interesting about how Harris and Burtka's surrogacy process was that there were two different eggs involved. "We inserted one of my sperm and one of David's sperm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically." And not to spoil anything, but they both did take! What all that means is that they are both the biological father of one of the twins – but they don't know which. However these days, Harris and Burtka have a pretty good idea of who's kid is whose. Burtka thinks that Harper Grace is his while Harris totally claims Gideon Scott.
Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
In February 2007, Patrick Dempsey went from McDreamy to McSleepy with the birth of his twin sons, Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen, his third children with his on-again, off-again, now definitely on-again wife, Jill. Some of his skills from playing Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy even came in handy when he got to cut the cords.
Now that Dempsey has traded in his scrubs, he has more time to keep up with his incredibly active family. From soccer matches to family bike rides, the Dempsey twins are certainly keeping their dad busy.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick
Carrie Bradshaw might have had Samantha, Charlotte and Cynthia, but Sarah Jessica Parker has just as many (if not more) adventures with her twin daughters Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge as well as oldest son, James Wilkie. Although the names Elwell and Hodge might sound a bit "out there" to us, they are actually both names from SJP's side of the family. Since the girls' birth in 2009, Parker has tried her best to keep them out of the spotlight, which makes the rare snaps that she shares of the twins even sweeter. The most recent picture Parker posted of the twins on social media was an Instagram post to celebrate their seventh birthday in 2016. The picture shows the twins running around outside and in the caption Parker praises her "lovely, funny, dear, surprising, sparkling and beloved" daughters.
Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego
Zoe Saldana is one of fiercest women in Hollywood, having taken on roles like Neytiri in Avatar and Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, but she took on her toughest role yet in December 2014 when she became a mother of twins. Cy and Bowie were the first children for Saldana and husband, Marco Perego. Three weeks after giving birth, Saldana introduced Cy and Bowie to the world via Instagram – or at least their toys and sippy cups. The active little boys keep Saldana and Perego on their toes, but she wouldn't have it any other way. As Zoe Saldana's career heats up, we hope to see Cy and Bowie hit the red carpet as the cutest plus ones ever!
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
When she isn't adding names to the list of people she doesn't know or taking to the stage to stir up the latest bit of controversy, Mariah Carey is taking care of her two little "dahlings," Monroe and Moroccan. On April 30, 2011, instead of celebrating their third wedding anniversary with a nice dinner or night on the town, Carey and ex-husband Nick Cannon found themselves in the hospital waiting on the arrival of their twins. Monroe and Moroccan were stealing the show before they were out of the womb – only Carey's kids. Known affectionately by Cannon as Roc Roe, the twins have interesting stories behind their unique names.Moroccan was named after the Moroccan decor in Carey's New York City apartment as well as for the place of his parent's engagement, Morocco. Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, one of Carey's inspirations.
Although Carey and Cannon split in 2016 after five years of marriage, the two have become co-parenting experts. Whether the pair are reuniting for a sweet Mother's Day outing or just a family dinner, Monroe and Moroccan are the glue that keeps Carey and Cannon close.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
It's a well-known fact that Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt are the parents of about half of the world's children (give or take a few), but few know that among the Jolie-Pitt children there are actually a pair of twins. Vivienne and Knox are the now ex-couple's second and third biological children, with Shiloh Jolie-Pitt being the first. When the twins were born it's possible that they were welcomed into the world with a "bonjour" instead of a "hello" since they were born in France (because of course they were).
And the first picture of the newborn twins in France allegedly sold for a whopping $14 million (because, again, of course it did). According to Us Weekly, Vivienne's middle name is Marcheline in honor of Jolie's mother, while Knox's got his middle name, Leon, from Pitt's grandfather. As a young Jolie-Pitt, it would only make sense that at least one of the twins caught the acting bug. Vivienne made her acting debut in the 2014 movie Maleficent alongside her mom. Only time will tell if Vivienne takes to the family business or prefers to stay out of the limelight like the other Jolie-Pitt kids.
