Who Is Keegan-Michael Key's Wife, Elisa Key?
We all know Keegan-Michael Key for starring alongside Jordan Peele in their Comedy Central sketch series "Key & Peele," but when it comes to his personal life, there's a lot to learn. He's been married to his second wife Elisa Key since June 2018 and was previously married to actor Cynthia Blaise for 15 years, according to The Knot.
Keegan-Michael and Elisa got engaged in November 2017 and kept their relationship out of the spotlight, save for some appearances together at the 2017 Emmys and Tony Awards. Their wedding was an intimate affair, but they pulled out all the stops for the reception, with Keegan-Michal calling it "the best prom I've ever been to" on "Live! With Kelly and Ryan. "The band wore tuxes, I wore a corsage, there were football players and theater geeks there, we got on the floor and danced to 'Blister in the Sun' by the Violent Femmes," he joked/
It's clear that Keegan-Michael is smitten with his wife. "She's really made this enormous difference in my life," he told People in October 2018. "She tells me what I'm worth. And helps me feel better about myself. And teaches me what it really means to be a partner. And she's also the most sharing human being I've ever met. Sharing comes to her as naturally as breathing. It's a really lovely example that she sets in my life."
Keegan-Michael obviously adores Elisa, but fans might be wondering who she really is. Keep reading for more details.
Elisa Key is an actress and producer
Much like her husband Keegan-Michael Key, Elisa Key has also made her mark in the entertainment industry. Unlike her husband, Elisa tends to spend more of her time behind the camera. According to her IMDb, she had a small part in "School of Rock" and scored a guest spot on "Law and Order." Elisa then moved on, producing "The Cake Eaters" in 2007 and later "This American Journey" and "Boy Meets Girl," among others.
In 2016, she directed the Peabody Awards and served as an executive producer on the 2020 TV shows "Game On!" and "Brain Games." She also worked on the 2018 film "Madero" and her husband starred in the movie, according to The Netline.
When she's not behind the camera, Elisa is her husband's biggest cheerleader on Instagram, especially when it comes to supporting his recent projects like "The Prom" and "Jingle Jangle." Elisa also sends Keegan-Michael plenty of love on her page for his non-movie activities. She posted a video of him goofing around in January 2021, writing, "I love you for many things- and am so grateful this one is on that long list." She also appears to be an avid New York Giants fan and enjoys hanging out with players on the sideline.
It seems like Elisa knows how to work hard and play hard!
