Who Is J Balvin's Girlfriend, Valentina Ferrer?
Colombian artist J Balvin is one of the most popular music artists in the world. The reggaeton icon has been a hot property in the music scene since releasing his hit "Mi Gente" in 2017. The song was so popular that even Beyoncé hopped on a remix and invited Balvin on stage at Coachella in 2018.
"She was super nice, she treats everyone with respect," Balvin told The Guardian about sharing the stage with Queen Bey. "The smaller you show yourself, the bigger people feel you, not the other way around."
Balvin's success can be measured by metrics. As The Guardian reported, his music videos have garnered billions of hits and he's one of the most streamed artists in the world. However, his love life has not been nearly as smooth as his professional life. Balvin has been with different women over the years, but none of them were long-term relationships.
But if you thought that Balvin was single, you'd be wrong. Balvin is dating Valentina Ferrer and they made their relationship public when they attended Fashion Week in 2018 (via Hola! US). Scroll down to find out more about Balvin's lover and mother of his child.
J Balvin's girlfriend is a model and pageant winner
Throughout their relationship, J Balvin took his girlfriend Valentina Ferrer on many red carpets and events, but the latter was actually already accustomed to flashing lights and cameras from her job. The model from Córdoba, Argentina, competed in beauty pageants and won the crown of Miss Argentina in 2014, according to the New York Post. The beauty queen studied physical education at the University of Córdoba, before landing her dream job as a model.
Ferrer met Balvin on the set of his music video shoot for the song, "Sigo Extrañándote" in 2017, according to E! News. Ferrer played Balvin's wife and his child's mother in the music video, which has since garnered over 400 million views, and might've foreshadowed their future.
In a spread for Vogue Mexico in April 2021, the couple announced they were expecting their first baby together. "Se va agrandado la familia," Ferrer shared a photo from the spread on her Instagram, which translates to, "The family is expanding."
The model previously revealed to The Post she wanted to have "three or four kids," but will remain committed to her modeling career, telling Vogue Mexico, "I want to do something that I love and that's my passion, [but that I also] can raise my children and still work."
