Bravo fans seemingly can't get enough of "Vanderpump Rules," the show that's been following Lisa Vanderpump and her restaurant employees for nearly a decade. As fans know, being on Lisa's good side is everything.
On a November 2020 appearance on the podcast "#NoFilter with Zack Peter," cast member Ariana Maddix dished on what she hoped Season 9 would look like. "I know people love the drama, but for me, I'm not mentally stable enough for drama sometimes. Especially in the world that we're living in. So, I might be excited to have a season that's a little a bit, like, some positive, and super fun, uplifting, like let's go party and try to be in a better place."
That's Ariana take, but keep scrolling to find out what we know about the upcoming season of the hit Bravo show.
'Vanderpump Rules' Season 9 is going to 'feel different and look different'
"Vanderpump Rules" is officially back! According to Variety, the show will start filming in May 2021, and cast members Lisa Vanderpump, Tom Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Ariana Maddix, Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, James Kennedy, and Raquel Leviss are returning for another round of outrageous antics, per Bravo.
Fan favorites Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor welcomed a baby in March 2021, and will not return to the show. Season 8 newbie Dayna Katz told E! News on April 19 that it "was a tough decision," but she's stepping away from "Vanderpump Rules." Former cast members Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were fired for past racist remarks in June 2020, per Variety.
Despite the shake ups, Lisa gave some details about possible new additions to the cast in an August 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said, "There are new cast members," adding, "It's really up to people that want to be front and center. I mean, I'm always all about that. Our companies are like the United Nations."
Katie told Entertainment Tonight in September 2020 that it would be "weird" to film without Stassi and Kristen, but it seems like she's excited to start filming again. "Yes, it's definitely gonna feel different and look different, but it's not like they're not a part of my life, you know?," she said. "So, it's gonna be weird to have this part of my life that was very much on the show not on the show anymore."
