What's Really Going On With Angela And Michael On 90 Day Fiance?
"90 Day Fiance" fans are familiar with Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi, the couple that captivated viewers with their 22-year-age gap and rocky romance. Angela pushed her Nigerian husband to leave his simple life behind and join her in the United States, and the couple also argued about her ability to carry a baby at the age of 54. The couple silenced haters when they married in a Nigerian ceremony, with Angela even wearing traditional clothing for the occasion.
Since the cameras stopped rolling, Angela has made headlines because of her weight loss. In August 2020, she underwent liposuction, a gastric sleeve surgery, and a breast reduction, according to Us Weekly. Angela chose to have weight-loss surgery after struggling to catch her breath in the grocery store, she explained to the magazine.
But Michael wasn't supportive of his wife's new looks. "Michael wasn't very supportive, you know, 'cause they don't have surgeries over there, I think," Angela told Us Weekly. "But you need somebody, you know, your partner [to be] emotionally supportive. It was rough. I feel like I was in it alone." Things are reportedly getting worse for the couple, and it's not just because of Angela's weight loss. Keep reading for more details.
Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi might be heading toward divorce
Angela Deem could divorce her husband, Michael Ilesanmi, according to Screen Rant. The divorce rumors came to a head when the 55-year-old liked an Instagram report from fan account @90dayfiancenow that read, "Angela releases official statement on DIVORCING Michael." Although the post was click-bait material to push followers to links, it still grabbed fans' attention. After all, fans are familiar with Deem referring to her husband as her "Nigerian prince" on the show.
The Instagram account linked to an interview where Angela discussed her relationship, but she did not confirm that she was calling it quits with her husband. Still, the grandmother's liking of the Instagram post has fans wondering about the couple's future. When asked on April 19 whether she ever thought about divorce, Angela told ET Online, "I was definitely talking to the lawyer. I said, 'I'm not gonna put up with this. If I put up with this with him all the way over there, what's it gonna be like here?'" She told her husband at one point, "Somehow you changed since we got married and we're not even living together, yet. Like, don't take that for granted because there's always a damn divorce court around the corner.'" Yikes!
To make matters even more difficult, Michael has still not been approved to officially join Angela in the United States. Angela and Michael might be deep into the divorce process, but fans will not know their relationship status until "90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?" stops filming.
