Who Was The First Member Of The Royal Family Prince Harry Reunited With?
Over the last few months, the royal family has been flipped upside down. In March 2021, the Oprah Winfrey interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle provided some insight into the royal family that uprooted its structure. Then on April 9, it was announced that Prince Phillip had died at 99. The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral will be held on Saturday, April 17, at St. George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle (per BBC).
Following Phillip's death, Gyles Brandreth, a longtime friend of Phillip, revealed how he felt about his grandson's decision to leave his royal duties, recalling that Phillip felt it was "not the right thing, either for the country or for themselves." Brandreth also shared Phillip's thoughts on the Oprah interview, explaining he thought it was "madness" and that "no good would come of it." (per Daily Mail).
Despite the turmoil in the family, Phillip's death has brought family together during this tragic time, and that includes Prince Harry. And since his arrival back in the U.K., he's had a mini family reunion.
Prince Harry reunited with Princess Eugenie before Prince Philip's funeral
Currently, Prince Harry lives in California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie. However, after the announcement of Prince Phillip's death, Harry flew back to the U.K. to attend his grandfather's funeral. In a statement, Harry remembered his grandfather as "a man of service, honour and great humour" and called him the "legend of banter" (per BBC).
Since being back in the U.K., Harry reunited with his cousin Princess Eugenie. She's the first member of the British royal family to see him in more than a year after he stepped away from his duties as a royal, Page Six reported.
Currently, Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are residing at Frogmore Cottage, which is Harry and Meghan's U.K. home, along with Eugenie's newborn son, August.
Despite the drama from earlier this year, it didn't stop Harry from being there for his family.
