Why Karlie Kloss Isn't Hosting The Next Season Of Project Runway
Karlie Kloss is a fixture on Project Runway, the competition show that gives aspiring fashion designers a chance to make it big. The show is heading into its 19th season, and production will start up this spring in New York City, according to ET Online.
The star, who celebrated her 28th birthday in August 2020, loves her time on the show and opened up to Andy Cohen about a viral moment from the Jan. 2, 2020 episode. Contestant Tyler Neasloney failed to design a dress for Kloss to possibly wear to the Council of Fashion Designers of America event in Paris. Judge Brandon Maxwell did not think the creation was "wearable," and Neasloney said, "Not even to dinner with the Kushners?" Neasloney was referring to Kloss' marriage to Joshua Kushner, per Vanity Fair. Kloss recounted the moment to Cohen, quipping, "I was honored to be one of the first memes of the decade." She continued, "But honestly, the real tragedy of this whole thing is that no one is talking about how terrible that dress was. That's why he went home. No, I would not wear that dress to any dinner."

Karlie Kloss will not host season 19 of Project Runway
Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kusher welcomed their first baby in March 2021, and as a result, she will only make "guest appearances" this season, according to ET Online. Despite her absence, designer Christian Siriano will return as a mentor, and Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth will resume their roles as judges. Sources revealed to Variety that the show is "reimagining the host role."
Although Kloss hasn't shared any details about her new baby, Kushner shared the happy news on Instagram and wrote, "Welcome to the world." He did not reveal the name or sex, but the blue hat makes us believe the couple had a boy.
Kloss has been quiet on social media but opened up to Harper's Bazaar UK in November 2020 and shared how she's become more casual in quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "In quarantine, I have probably worn more sweatpants and leggings than ever in my life," she said. "I have definitely been embracing athleisure just as much as the rest of the world." It sounds like Kloss is carving out a little time for herself and the new baby, which is her prerogative. Enjoy!
